I could not reproduce this bug a second time, however when I added my first buddy and he accepted the request, I still didn't show up in his buddy list at all even after relogging and he didn't show up as online in mine. I told him to try adding me back and it said I was already registered. This bug happened for both of us (LukStinks and HkBlau). I ended up solving it by deleting him again, relogging and having him re-add me.
I've also found that if the request doesn't work the first time, try declining it & then just adding them. <-- has worked every time for me, just a little workaround for how it is now.
