In fact, mages have skills that are good for taking down bosses. Chain Lightning, Paralysis, and Angel Ray are examples of these. Additionally, I know that poison, holy, and lightning weaknesses have been assigned to facilitate the participation of mages in the Von Leon fight. However, mages are absurdly weak against bosses, so in reality, they can't participate in Von Leon, which has a 60-minute time limit. Also, due to the requirement of having at least 8k to a stable 19k HP, HP washing is essential. If mages could participate in Von Leon on equal footing with other attackers despite these efforts, the game would become really exciting. Therefore, I propose that when mages use magical attacks on Von Leon, they should deal approximately 250% more damage than usual. (The 250% is an arbitrary figure I've set, and I hope the percentage is adjusted by comparing it to the average damage of single-target attackers like Bowmasters.) Since Royals' Von Leon is almost new content rather than nostalgia or existing content, how about applying a new formula and creating a new meta?
I wonder what people think of your suggestion because I don't know what else to propose. The suggestion I have made (in private, I never posted it) was to remove the boss-like status immunities from at least one of the summons so they can be affected by Seal (which would be safer to use than Bishop's Doom, and they're busy with other stuff anyway), freeze and Ice/Fire Demon, but I was told by an experienced VL runner that this would trivialize controlling the summons especially when skills from other classes are brought into play. VL simply wasn't designed with them in mind despite all the claims of "content for everyone" Even a bishop of same strength that just uses Angel Ray and Genesis would probably be more useful since Genesis does about the same damage or more and is faster than booster'd Meteor/Blizzard, and using moves safely is everything in body 3. If you found Genesis scary to use in B3 just imagine Blizzard/Meteor. Arch mages also have to cast Spell Booster every time VL dispels. I don't know if you saw that one run where my IL died like 7 times since I wasn't used to reactively timing blizzard in my first ever VL run in body 3. I own the mistakes I made and part of me wants to go back and refine the timing, but the other part of me feels it's just futile in the end and would only drag the party down.
i meant, not for range skill like blizzard, chain lightning / paralysis for bossing. dont have to use blizzard, actually even bs dont need to use genesis unless 12-man run.
and... with telecasting, we can reduce the risks from blizzard/meteor. keep touching mobs with tc. but 8k hp needed
We do have plans to let mages catch up a little in terms of DPS. The skill balance stuff just takes way longer than we hoped it would.
