I'm coming from the perspective of playing a Mage class, but afaik this applies to many of the classes. The highest level mage weapons require no LUK. The INT you get from high-LUK equips is absolutely pitiful, and it never makes up for the INT you lose out on. I haven't done the math for the other classes, but I imagine the situation is exactly the same for any class that doesn't require secondary stats for its best weapons. The solution, I think, is to buff the added primary stat of mid to high level equips for the classes that need them. Note that I'm not saying to buff them until wearing them is better than wearing the low-level and common equips people are wearing now. Just that they be buffed enough that there's any reason to wear them, since there simply is no reason currently. Even if wearing them becomes only somewhat (rather than significantly) worse than wearing the current "good" equips, that could be enough to tip the scales given the added defense. It's about adding diversity to the set of equips that players who care about their stats will wear. You shouldn't have to gimp your character if you want to wear high level armor. Now, I don't know what the admins think about re-balancing items, nor do I know what they have the ability to do, so it may be that this cannot happen regardless. I'm interested to know if anyone has any particular grievances with my points, or if I missed something. As an aside, a perhaps more controversial point. I feel something should be available to replace ZHelms. Every good player wearing the same helm is just silliness. Buff the highest level class helmets to make them suitable substitutes? Not better, just wearable.
