Seeing as how the number of FM scammers seems to be growing with the population, I was wondering if it were possible to implement a similar buyback command for the FM shops as are already in place for NPC shops. Seeing as how many of the reports specify the player returning to the shop soon after they had bought the item, it seems as though it may be practical for use. Potential problems: Will items be placed back in the shop or in Frederick. How will the system handle if the shop is being edited or has been edited since time of purchase. Potential for market manipulation with those who are rich enough. Especially once Owls work correctly. There's bound to be some kind of duping that pops up some time eventually. I think it's just a byproduct of having item-related commands. Although I fully trust the devs to only put out code that they believe is up to Royals standards. Possible implementations: Similar system to the normal ~buyback where they have to be in the same room within a certain time period to get their refund. Return items to Fredrick. Makes the process clean and simple (Assuming that the shops don't have a conflict when Fredrick has items but the shop is already opened) Only give 90% (Or some other percent) refunds since I still believe that it is the buyer's own carelessness that led to this. Seeing as how this can be used to manipulate the availability market, giving partial refunds would still give the Seller something after their item had been force removed from their shop. (Hey its better than nothing)
I don't like this. The prices in an FM shop are clearly labelled, and it's the buyer's own fault if they couldn't just take the extra second to make sure they were buying at the right price. This command seems like a lot of unnecessary coding when these "scams" can be easily prevented by just not being stupid.
This sums up exactly how I feel. If you don't want to be scammed, take your time and make sure you know exactly what you are buying. Don't be in such a rush.
Hmm also i see much potential for possible dupes with such a function (no idea about that) but it looks pretty exploitable. Hope this will stay a no
Also think about it like this. Once the owner of the store takes out his money and removes the item from the store (once it's sold), he needs to be refunded the item, the buyer the meso, the seller can't have spend the money already etc... There's no way this could ever be a flawless system and as said before prices are clear, you just need to take your time
Yea I figured as such. It was just after so many daily reports on the scams, I started feeling a bit of pity towards them. Thought there might be some potential to help.
