    Why does recharging steely throwing knives now cost 75k meso? It used to be like 2k meso??

    Second...

    Ginger Ales are 16k... how am I supposed to sell leech??

    Not sure about star prices, but sit an hour at Leprechauns and you'll make a few millions in NPC meso.

    Elixirs / Power Elixirs can be bought from players ranging from 7k - 15k , Alot cheaper than Ginger ales.

    Steelies are still 75k.

    And besides... back when I played lots of players used iibis... just vote for two days and sell the nx fashion and you got a set.

    The lvl req for iibis is 10 ...

    Edit: Alright... where can I find snowballs or something.

    Leech should earn you at least 80m/hour before any drops from mobs. If you're using 5k ginger ales per hour, something is seriously wrong.

    The star recharge increase was to keep NLs inline with overall cost of gameplay with every other class due to Alchemist saving you an incredible high amount of mesos via attack pots (ex: longer duration stoppers and apples).

    Yes, new assassins lvl 1-90 pre alch nerf will be affected by this the hardest, but, that’s a pretty short time frame. I would say most new players can clear that level zone in a week to 2 weeks. But you could also just use lesser tiered stars then until 9x, or even until you have shadow stars. There’s no real content 1-135 I would heavily recommend using strong stars outside of CPQ.

    It's a poorly measured response to a fairly complicated issue which is an untended consequence of how this implementation of the game works. Just like in real life, more money in circulation means that money is worth less. IRL inflation is caused by a lot of different things, including printing too much cash. In this game mesos aren't printed, they're farmed, and farmed at an alarming rate. In the classic version of this game rates are smaller, exp is also much less available which means less high level classes that can flash farm, and multi-clienting is basically an impossibility. So compared to the base game the ways of earnings mesos are exponentially more effective. So what about the flip side, what about removing mesos from circulation? In old maple this comes down to pretty much just buying consumables, and trade taxes. In the base game this can eat up a huge proportion of your income, and mesos are always in short supply. Meso sinks outside taxes almost do not exist in this game at all. There have been obvious efforts to implement them to some degree but I think the overall success of some of these strategies are dubious. Things like the free market owl and megas are a good example of an intelligently implemented meso sink. The stars and alchemist changes are another example of a change to try and create more meso sinks. NL is the most popular class, so creating meso sinks for them vs other classes will have a higher impact. I think this is one of those changes that are kind of sus in their effectiveness. I also don't believe the motivation behind these changes were related to game balance in any way at all, it's all about the economy. Something like taxing items that people currently use as stores of value and to avoid trade taxes would have a much larger impact and wouldn't bork over the new player experience nearly as bad.
