    Hello,
I just tried to install this game and after a long battle with my anti-virus (Norton Security Suite), I was able to get the setup installed, and the client downloaded. So now when I try to run the Client (Mapleroyals.exe), I get an error message, and I have not been able to successfully launch the game. The message I am getting is "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.". I also get/have gotten the "Cannot run because the path is incorrect or you don't have the permissions" one. I have tried re-installing the Visual C++ files, and that didn't work.

Any Help would be much appreciated!

Try re install the whole setup (delete and re install) have you tried running as an admin?

Would this really help? I have to go through the whole battle with the anti-virus if I try this. And yes I have unfortunately. I'll have to try this though.

was your anti virus on when downloading?
could be Norton deleted files, you should be able to turn it off while downloading Royals not sure if it still will delete files after.

Well, I'm not sure about your first error, but the second one used to happen to me. I'm not sure what causes it, but moving the entire MapleRoyals folder out of Program Files (x86) and on to the Desktop fixed it for me. Then after a few successful launches, it would happen again, so I'd just move it back, let it work for a while, then repeat the process as needed.
