Hello! I am a new player to this server, I have yet to be able to start-up the application to the game, I have tried various methods, including 1. Turning off all anti-virus/firewall to install. 2. Replacing all .wz files with new ones from site 3. Repairing with the installer 4. Restarting computer. 5. Moving the folder around. 6. Reinstalling multiple times 7. Checking that MapleRoyals.exe is there 8. Opening with administrator etc. etc. But I still continue to receive the message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item." I have tried for many hours and have no avail. Is there a possible fix out there for me? THANK YOU, Because this server seems insanely fun and exciting, as I am a player from the 2006' era. Extra Question: Do I have to download the Windows Client and replace the one in the folder with it? Because the "Maplestory Setup" included the MapleRoyals.exe.
It has finally worked, the secret is Microsoft Security Essentials. I have went through at least 20 threads and couldn't find the solution.
I would hate to have the same problem occur to someone else and have no solution to it. I hope this would be of great help to someone of a familiar situation, this is a great server so far! 1. Click the windows symbol on the bottom left 2. Search for "Microsoft Security Essentials" 3. Click the application to open it. 4. Click "Settings" 5. Search for "Excluded files and locations" in the left list 6. Click Browse 7. Find the MapleRoyals Folder 8. Click "OK" 9. Click Add. 10. Click "Save changes" 11. Confirm save changes(Need admin powers) And just start the launcher XD ENJOY! Note: Only windows, and unsure if it works for other versions as well, or the exact process.
