Can't get to Haunted House in NLC

When I'm in New Leaf City and I'm trying to enter the portal that looks like a furnace it says "The Portal is Closed for Now"

 

To get to haunted house, from nlc, go all the way left and talk to the hum v npc and select yes to be transported to outside haunted house

 

I think he’s asking how to get to in Chimney since he said there’s a furnace and I vaguely remember that pop up, meaning he’s already in Haunted House.

If I’m right, unfortunately you cannot go in there before that map is currently blocked in Royals.

 

Why the Map is Blcoked?

 

Iirc it was because it was deemed too OP and they didn’t want people to leech there.

 

Haunted house chimney maps were extremely powerful when they were released. The spawn density and exp per kill of the mobs caused most other mobs around that level to no longer be trained at. They disabled the chimney to retain the leveling curve. Youll have to look for them yourself but you can still find the chimney mobs in other rooms inside haunted house
