Cant load the game, Please help!!!

Im running Windows 8 and i made a character and everything but i't never let me into the game. I re installed to see if it was on my end but now its not responding and it give me the image that is attached.
I would really appreciate some help. thanks in advance.

 

try running with windows 98 compatibility mode?

 

well i got the game to work, but it keeps telling me that I cant connect to the internet.
