Introduction Hello everyone, I’m Alan. I am new to MapleRoyals, but I've been in and out of BBB Maple Story related games/servers since 2010ish with Official MapleStory. This is my first attempt to write my first guide here for Caveman Challenge specific archer guide (https://royals.ms/forum/threads/game-challenge-caveman™.120717/). This will be updated as I progress through the Caveman Challenge. Why Caveman Challenge? I've tried most of the (pre big bang) jobs, builds, and ways to play each job throughout the years, so I wanted to try something new, interesting, not boss oriented, and no leeching/HP washing. I went through the forum and found a few other interesting challenges such as LEGOman, Ironman, Hunter, Islander, etc. I settled with Caveman because it addressed many of my observations with the before-big-bang class balance issues I've noticed throughout the years with official BBB Maple and other private servers. Caveman is not perfect, but it hit home for me especially on the introduction of the Caveman thread. Pros and Cons of Archer/Hunter/Ranger in the Cave Pros : 1. Long range attack and long range AOE stun 2. Have high accuracy to attack monsters with high avoid (especially Jr. Boogie). 3. Varity of play styles and skills Cons : 1. Painful fighting mobs before Power Knock-Back is at a decent level. 2. No mobility skills other than Nimble Feet. 3. May not have HP Jr. Balrog until high level or with HB. AP Builds Recommend normal build with STR and DEX for equipment. Pure DEX build is possible, but will have to use level 10 bow until lv 43 for maple soul search from Drake or you have access to lv 35 maple bow from Cargo/other fellow Caveman (thank you @Dave Deviluke) See @Inusama Caveman equipment guide https://royals.ms/forum/threads/game-challenge-caveman™.120717/page-7#post-825461 Skill Builds First Job: I'll defer to @nany625 bowmaster guide for first job skill build: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/new-source-nanys-bowmaster-guide-road-to-lord-sniper.121936/ Second Job: This is where a Caveman Hunter skill build order will deviate from a normal Hunter skill build, but the end result is the same. There will be other ways to build it, but after trying out a bunch of different maps in the ant tunnel, I personally found the skill build below to be easier and more efficient to level inside the cave: Level 30: 1 SP to Arrow Bomb (Lv 1) Level 31 to 33: 9 SP to Bow Mastery (Lv 9) Level 33 to 40: 20 SP to Power Knock-Back (MAX), and 1 SP to Bow Mastery (Lv 10) Level 40 to 42: 6 SP to Bow Booster (Lv 6) Level 42 to 45: 9 SP to Bow Mastery (Level 19) Level 45 to 55: 29 SP to Arrow Bomb (MAX), and 1 SP to Bow Booster (Lv 7) Level 55 to 60: 13 SP to Bow Booster (MAX), 2 SP to Soul Arrow (Lv 2) Level 60 to 66: 18 SP to Soul Arrow (MAX) Level 66 to 70: 1 SP to Bow Mastery (MAX), 11 SP to Focus (MAX) Please note that I am currently Level 38 (almost 39), so anything beyond Level 40 until Power Knock-Back is maxed is my current prediction/theory crafting on how I will level my Caveman Hunter. The maps and training locations are the main reason the Caveman Hunter skill order deviated from a normal Hunter. I will cover the reasons in the next section. Third Job: At the moment I suspect the third job skill build will be the same or very similar to normal ranger skill build covered in Nany's bowmaster guide. Will update this section when I reach this point. Training Location: Level 2X to mid 3X when Power Knock-Back is at a decent level: Ant Tunnel I, Ant Tunnel IV, Deep Ant Tunnel II Level 3X to 4X: The Cave of Evil Eye II Level 4X and beyond: TBD/Will update when I'm tired of Evil Eyes. The reason that Caveman Hunter prioritize Power Knock-Back over Arrow Bomb is because mid Lv 3X the best map to grind will be in the Evil Eye's cave. The problem with traditional Hunter build in the evil eye cave is the evil eyes spawn can be very dense, and it will be very frustrating to wrack with bow all the time. Level 9 Bow Mastery with 35% to minimum damage will help stabilize the damage enough to start leveling Power Knock-Back. Power Knock-Back will make night and day difference when training in the Evil Eye's Cave, which should be the best place to level until level 4x as a Caveman for all jobs. I personally like the Evil Eye II map because of the spawn location of the Jr. Boogie. There are 2 locations Jr. Boogie can spawn in this map, and both locations has snipe spots where Jr. Boogie spawn can't get to you in melee range. Sorry for my noob formatting skill. I will try and improve and organize this guide as I go. Join the Caveman Challenge with me. I'm on usually daily from 5ish PM to 8ish PM PST. My IGN is SavageBow.
