Hi! I have been able to observe that the best mapleroyals medal is: The legendary collector is a very interesting and difficult challenge because you must collect 400 cards to obtain this medal. I would like to suggest that there is a 30k fame medal and it is the best medal in the game. (In GMS there was a rumor that if you achieved 30k fame the scrolls would work 10% more successful) Mapleroyals is a wonderful and veteran game that has been giving us a lot of fun for years, but so far (NO ONE) reaches 30k of fame Achieving 30k of fame is almost impossible to achieve and I think this should be better rewarded and that the strongest medal in the game can be obtained. Thank you for your attention :3
I must say this is an interesting idea. But it'd also make fame more expensive. Not sure how I feel about it.
Interesting proposal, a special medal to reward such a feat so that players would be more motivated for fame, as of now there is no significant reward for either having a lot of positive or negative fame, i recall in gms before bb that some people went to -30k and some to +30k, a medal for an infamous and a medal for a famous, xD
Not sure I'm keen on rewards for buying fame and the additional defame drama that will inevitably follow.
Fame can be acquired in many ways: I don't understand why you look at it that way. Do you want fame? Help a person with some potions or equips so that they have luck in the game. Do you want fame? Help people by guiding their quests to finish them. Do you want fame? Finish your quests, many give fame. Do you want fame? Many people seek to use tp on a specific map, give it wisper and it is 70% that you get fame for your attention. Do you want fame? Help newbies with party quest with finishing 5 pqs finished you can ask to support you with fame. Do you want fame? Trade fame There are many ways to be famous instead of buying them as you can see.
Noobs don't know how to fame though unless you tell them to do it I've completed every fame quest in the game and consider myself a helpful player and my 4-year-old drk has 694 fame. I also assume anyone with over 1k fame just bought it all lol.
+1 Currently having fame in game feels more like a vanity project, than an actual mechanic or milestone you need to reach. I recall some quests and equipments requires a certain amount of fame to access in the original game, which makes it extra painful to get defamed and getting famed from a stranger without asking extra special. It has been strike me as strange to see high level characters here with below 80 fames. Not so sure about having the fame medal needing 30,000 fame to get it. Maybe I will be more receptive to it if is like a lower amount such as 2,000, 5,000 or 10,000 instead.
Selling fame service now is a joke compared to 2017/2018 before security pin/pic was introduced. Even u smega selling at 1m nobody buys from you. but yes 30k is too much maybe ^ 10k is good
fame system "meaning" is ruined with all the fame farms going on daily i don't think reward should be strongest medal in the game for this unless fame system changed to be like vote system or something like that
But the whole point of fame is that it's essentially "meaningless" vanity, no? To reiterate Inusama's point, realistically speaking fame is mostly the result of purchases rather than questing or actively helping other members of the community. Especially at such staggeringly high numbers of 30k (or even 10k), it's disingenuous to claim otherwise. And this would only be exacerbated if we were to attach a tangible damage boost that can be obtained through a high fame milestone. I don't think a medal reward for a high fame milestone is necessarily a bad idea, but I also don't support the idea of introducing a meta purpose to fames just for the sake of doing so.
I don't think it will work or improve anything, people who want 30k fame for the medal are probably only interested in gaining power. Lets say 1 fame = 1mil, A person would prefer to farm 1hour lets say 100m (and there are better methods to get more), that's 100 fames per hour. I don't think you are able to help 100 new people per hour so simply farming and buying fame seems the way to go here, it won't promote any positive gameplay, only another market for people to make/spend mesos on.
I have done most, if not all fame quests on my main, and some of them repeated. I also get randomly famed sometimes for being cute or just nice to someone else. After nearly 3 years, my main still don't have even 1k fame though (currently 900 something). You could make fame mules, but you can only fame a character once a month so that would still take a very long time. You are not going to get 30k fame without buying, it's that simple, and buying to 30k fame is not going to be cheap. I'm also not against the medal idea necessarily, but yeah I also don't think it should be the strongest. Buying your way to the best possible medal doesn't sound like the best option. You can "buy" the hairchanging medal by buying 50 hair coupons, but it aint the best medal, so people only do that really if they care about collecting medals like yours truly.
I would like to rephrase my previous comment. I'm on board with the idea of having more challenges and niche medals in the game, like Quest Specialist, Dynamic Hair and I've been the best. Whether we import it from the original game (Carnival Winner, PQ mania, Henesys Donor etc) or custom ones (Ergoth Bane) I'm not on board about making it the strongest medal in the game, even if we asked the staff to code in a way only x amount of fame per day is counted towards the achievement, and everything beyond that is not. Since in my opinion, you are not really accomplishing anything tangible, you are not completing more of the game and you can easily bypass it with money. At most, it should be a modest boost, probably +10 speed and + 10 jump. While yes, collecting fame from players is a vanity project, I wouldn't say isn't totally only for show. No matter how minor it was, it still has a tangible function, such as equipping Starlight and accessing quests like Blackbull's Deed. Whether fame should have higher function/role, I think should be reserved on another thread.
I think having medals in a tier-like system like the Collector Medals for objectives that take a very long time and a lot of effort to do (Fame, in this case) would be neat. This is also done with the Adventurer Medals. The Quest Specialist Medal should be given out in tiers also. I think there is actually a couple of hundred quests more than the 800 mark for the Medal. Maybe make THAT one the top tier (900 or 1000 Quests)
