I understand how many people think that Chimney maps are OP, I completely understand. However, Sins and Bowmen have the short end of the stick, and, frankly, it seems like Royals staff doesn't care. So, how about this - - lower the EXP rates from Chimney monsters, make it so they match up with gs2, really all we need is a place for sins and bowmen to train. I know it's not too difficult to lower the exp rates, quite simply what I'm asking is for Chimney, but if you must, just lower the exp. TONS of people just don't go past 50 on their sins or archers because of it, it's ridiculously unfair to them when the only place to really train is voodoos where the exp gets slow after like 55. Anyway, I just thought I'd throw this up in feedback for you guys to look at and consider.

Definitely agree. I'm a Lvl 77 Hermet and it literally costs me more than 1 hour of boring Voodoo slaying for 1 level.

We are open to feedback, thus why we have this section. Show me a thread where a good idea for these classes and level range has been shot down and then I'll agree with that comment =/

If they EXP rates for monsters were stored in the database then you are right, it would be very easy to change them, but they are not.

Awaiting more feedback from others on this idea.

Also, it's not so much that, it's just that the fact is, when ANYONE brings up that sins and bowmen have ridiculously hard times training, there's no response.

When people even BRING UP chimney, "Nope too OP!" Sure, but without it it's WAY too tedious to be worth training that class, frankly it's unfair to sins and bowmen.

Personally as a Ranger GS2 was easy as hell to train at for Bowman. But Jesters would be an outstanding spot for DPS classes. That's really what jesters are, the next step after Voodoos for DPS 2nd job classes. If there's no step up, you're stuck at that same level which we all know can get boring after 10-15 levels at the same monster.

I'd be completely in favor of Jesters. Other than Hoodoos, WindRaiders are probably the only option on my Bandit and they are honestly a pain in the ass to get to and to train on. Seemingly kind of slow spawn rate contributes to WindRaiders being a underpowered grind spot.

And while Jesters may be a bit overpowered, it's not like putting them in will break the game by any means. People will just have that extra push towards the 10x levels, but I don't see anybody getting to 200 off Jesters.

TL:DR it's like it is not a custom map, it's an original GMS map so I think it should be put in if it's not too much work. I think it'd break up some of the monotony for a lot of people.

It's already in the game, they just have it locked, and have on many occasions refused to unlock it because it's "too op". V62 had chimney, you just had to get the key.

I think it would be great to have a training spot that takes some of the pressure off GS2, so I like the idea of the Chimney.

It'd be nice. Other maps like GS2 would be less crowded.
Isn't that normal for your level?

I have NEVER heard of any servers storing monster EXP data in a database. Since the monster EXP's are already stored in .wz XML files, it would be an incredible waste of time to also put them into the database. The .wz XML files are easily modifiable. I apologise if I am coming off rash here but I do not like it when people presume they know how to implement back-end changes, in that tone, especially when giving a suggestion. [STRIKE="datdoublepostlol"]You also didn't comment on my questioning in regards to the other assumption of the staff not giving a shit.[/STRIKE] So you did, In a double post, after I had already started writing a reply.

Maybe I'm just rusty on it, it's been a few years - - HOWEVER, I did talk about that , I said whenever it's brought up to give a change for training at those levels, it's ignored or just flat out said "Too OP". So, why not lower the EXP so that it's NOT too OP for your taste? I don't blame you for being rash, I'd be rash too in your position, but it's an issue, it's TEDIOUS to level when it shouldn't be, I know plenty of people who just quit because of it, and it seems like you don't care because when it's asked to be unlocked, you just say too OP and leave it at that. That SEEMS like you don't care enough to give us a true answer. MAYBE that's just me, but that's what it feels like. Now I'm not saying the staff flat out don't care about us, but they don't seem to care about this issue whatsoever.

I still cannot find threads where the staff have declined Chimney. Only threads I see are from pre-wz-edits when we had no plans to add wz-edits. It would be nice if you can show me an appropriate thread or evidence to go with these comments in my opinion.

I do not play a ranged character, but I strongly support this.

Slimy is 1000 EXP (4x adjusted) and has 5800 HP
Jester is 5300 EXP and has 50,000 HP
It actually isn't that amazing in terms of the ratio. And like Slimy, Jester just drops junk.

Higher HP works a lot better for single target classes, as unlike us mobbers, they "waste" a lot of damage on monsters with low HP. GS2 could be labelled as overpowered for mages and warriors. But nobody even cares. Why is it that people then scream "overpowered!" for the overpowered maps for thieves/bowmen? I think it makes far more sense to have a good map for them, i.e. Jesters, rather than leeching off a mage being their standard way of getting through 3rd job. And it's not like a ranged character training at jesters is ever going to get the amount of EXP that a 4th job mage gets spamming ultimates! So it isn't really that overpowered anyway.

Personally I don't train at GS2. I train at the skeletons in perion because I just find the map more interesting, and I like the drops I get. For some people EXP/hour is the most important measure, and for others it isn't. Whatever a person likes, good for them.

I personally haven't seen threads about it, but I've seen it in game when it's brought up, I've heard quite a bit that the staff are completely against it, and even in a personal conversation with someone who was a member of the staff recently they said that much of the staff is against opening Chimney because they feel it's too op. So, why not lower the exp from them?

Of course there will be some staff who don't like it. The idea of adding chimney polarises people; some people love the idea, others hate it. So I'd expect a similar distribution among the staff. But one staff member doesn't speak for them all.

I did a search for Chimney. Some users have asked for it (and it was declined due to not being in V0.62, presumably that was before WZ edits were considered), and some users have expressed a strong disliking towards it. No staff have said on the forum that they don't like it interestingly.

The overpowered argument, while I understand, is kind of unfair because it's not OP for everybody. Some classes benefit more from one map than the other, like the case with GS2. Ghost Ship 2 is overpowered as hell.

To prove that, I will shamefully admit I trained there until Level 90.

At level 80, up until 85 where it slowed down, I got between 50% and 60% each hour. That's pretty damn good. But my thoughts are, it's not a bad thing. If there was a Free Market with Gold Slimes who dropped NX and 10mil exp each, that'd be overpowered. (Obviously I took that to the extreme lol but hopefully point made).

It's just different for every class. Some classes will never go to Jesters. Others, like Bandits, Assassins, and other DPS-Based classes will embrace it and…well… get 'dey levels on.

Edit: At the end of the day it's leveling on Maple Story so i'm not going to pull any hair out over it. If the Staff says one thing and I say another….the hell with me then lol. :p I just think it'd be a great addition.

But chimney WAS in v62, it was a quest to get the key however.

Incorrect, it was released in v0.77 in the second haunted house update. Thus why when we tried warping to it pre-wz-edits, the map did not exist, and the monsters were not in the data.
