I'll be brief. I'm fine with the normal weather effects like small falling snowflakes or ghosts or whatever. But these fireworks are insanity. They take up, quite literally, a third of the screen. It makes chatting in free market extremely unpleasant. A certain someone (I won't name names) somehow has a seemingly infinite amount of them and is using them in bulk all the time. I'm not saying ban them. I just want to hear if people are as frustrated with these things as I am. Discuss.
You had no problem reporting a chat spammer in fm, what makes the difference of reporting a chat spammer with a 24/7 uptime of his/her message & a weather effect spammer with the same uptime? (since you said in bulk i'd assume that he/she had the effect going on constantly with a 24/7 uptime.)
^ Fairly off-topic, I think he just wants to know if other people are just as put off by the fireworks as he is, not so much if people would support banning the players who abuse them. I think using them as intended is fine; one firework to relay one message. Any more than that does start to become a nuisance in pretty much any setting.
I think that's the whole point of not just chinese fireworks but weather effects in general, to be up-in-your-face. I hate them just as much as you do but it wouldn't make much sense to ban players for using something that was intended to be annoying, if that were the case then we might as well remove weather effects from the game all together as they'll only serve as ban-baits. Not to mention these items aren't frequently used like smegas, has a cooldown on it, AND only works on players that are in the same map/channel as the user sending the effects. Rather than banning players for spamming weather effects, how about adding a command to disable them (~toggleweather), sort of like what we have for smegas? But the gms aren't in favor of adding more player commands so this idea is probably out of the picture.
Personally I'm one of the people that spam firework weathers on my friends but I do get frustrated if it's during an event or FM CH 1 (constant spam, like 3 in a row).
I kinda agree with the OP, if it is on those circumstances. There was a event once, a zakum jump quest, and a person that does not belong to this server anymore (for having a imaginary brother), spammed those which caused a lot of persons to fall/loose time, in other words, caused a huge mess. But unfortunately, I don't think anything can be done about. Even tho I don't remember of people doing the same thing in the good old 2007-2008 GMS era, as I said, worrying about this while we are experiencing a lot of other troubles like the recent dupes and the new source stuff I would humbly consider doing something about it a waste of time. When I face myself in a situation like this in the free market I just change channel. (I get rekt sometimes because of ccdc. Lmao)
