^ Me and other players after relogging into a separate channel, but still in the same RR map. In the original RR map, players relogging would be sent to a separate exit map where they cannot rejoin the event. However, in this map (as well as the previous halloween RR map), players have been able to relog back into the same channel where the event is and sneak back in for another chance of winning. Given the amount of players packed into the map during the first few stages of the event, it is near impossible for hosts to keep track of everyone there. Although RR prizes lately have not been of any monetary value, players being able to sneak back into the event gives them an unfair advantage over others that honestly want to win the rewards. I would like to ask that gms refrain from hosting in the event map again or have this issue fixed to remove at least one of the cheating methods in these events. Ty !!
Hello, I've moved this thread to the Bug Report section. I've also forwarded this to the rest of Staff--thank you for letting us know of the issue!
Thanks for the quick report. Made a note of it and it has been fixed. Unfortunately we will have to avoid this map until the next SC. Regular RR map will have to do until then.
Hi Matt! There were instances I have seen regarding players bringing multiple of their own characters into the event. I think they might be doing it using different devices (separate computer or maybe VMware) that may be allowing them to bypass the npc's 1 account restriction. With even one extra character inside, this allows them to easily pass the common initial 50/50 round by positioning a character on top and another character on bottom. I might be wrong in my guess but maybe this can be tested out in the test server? I hope this can help with any investigation on the event!
I’ve seen a number of players multiclient like Rie said. We assumed Staff were already aware because these are all events hosted by them, just that there was unlikely to be a fix and it’s too difficult to get rid of specific players loopholing the rules. It has been done by players in at least Russian Roulette and Coconut Harvest; I don’t know about Ola Ola for sure.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, it's a shame that there are players that always try to bypass the restrictions for their own gain, and you are right that it's difficult to stop this from happening. Currently the event blocks you from multi-clienting from the same computer. The next step we could take is of course only allowing one account per IP address, but this would block 2 or more legitimate players from the same household from taking part. However we will look into seeing if there's some smarter logic we could implement to help prevent this issue.
Thank you Matt! I would like to ask this question because events might still be continuing while a solution is being made. Will the act to multi-client in gm events be subject to punishment under glitch abuse? For events like RR, having an unfair advantage to try and win an untradeable item is likely not as severe as having an unfair advantage to win a rare nx (10b+ meso value) item. Likewise for events like Ola Ola and Coconut Harvest, abusers are most likely aiming for more chances of getting expensive items like chaos scroll, white scroll, taru totem, etc. I think it would be nice to know if there would be different levels of punishment or if they will all fall under the same punishment to keep the rule simple.
