This is a two part suggestion (Or rather one part split up into two sections? It's all arbitrary), but it's gist includes: adding a 'server clock' which is mainly on the forum with a generalized timezone as well implementing it into the voting system. The reason a serverwide clock would be useful is that it would give the whole server a general timezone usable for all events. For example, if the staff wanted to host an event at 8:00, they would simply say "8:00 server time", and no matter where someone was, they would be able to easily tell when it was as opposed to trying to balance non-server-related timezones. It also gives players who want to meet up or do something at a specific time a generalized timezone to use. For example, say you need to leave in 2 hours, and it's currently 3pm. You can check the server clock, see that it's two hours ahead of yours, so you know that you'll need to leave at 7pm server time. In that way, you can easily arrange schedules with friends. The second suggestion is to implement this into the NX Voting system. Currently, the NX voting system runs on a 24-hour basis. If you last voted at 4pm, you can vote at 4pm the next day. However, it's flawed in a couple of ways. First, it's just generally annoying to wait all day for your NX to come, even if it's the next day. Logistically-wise, it can cause problems if someone is trying to get NX as often as possible. Say you collected NX at 8pm yesterday, and today you can only be on from 3pm-5pm. Well, you missed on on collection for that day, then. Switching the system so that you can vote and receive NX at midnight server time would not only make things easier, it would guarantee more votes, help people gain NX in ways that are more comparable with their schedules, and, best of all, it's cheat-proof - by not relying on a computer clock, players won't be able to set their time forward to get NX faster. The first of the two I can see being relatively easy to put into the website if the Staff likes the idea, however I'm not sure how doable, code-wise, the second idea is, but I figured I'd suggest it anyway. The server time is GMT + 1 right now, (British summer time) If you check the front page. Server Time May 08, 2015 01:22:42 (GMT+1) BST Having a standard time where your voting would reset would be pretty nice, I often vote at weird hours making it pretty annoying to keep it up.
I think votes only register on gtop100 every 24 hours, if the voting system went with server time, then you could recieve 8000 NX at 11:59PM and then another 8000 NX at 12:00 AM except the vote would only count once which is useless. It has to be every 24 hours unless I'm mistaken.
For the voting part, I dont think that Royals admin are able to change that due to gtop having a 24h cooldown when voting on their site.
Opps, didn't realize about the server time, how silly of me. However, it's kind of a bummer that's how their thing works. Dang.
One more thing about voting tho, would it be possible to get a command in game to see how much time until we can vote again?
You can always get your browser history up to check which time you last visited it, to get an estimated time when u voted. Other than that theres also a 15 min notice ingame that tells you when your almost able to vote. Idk if theres a way to get the actual timer. edit : NVM. You can just vote again to see the timer, ugh im stupid.
but you have to log out in order to see the timer, the 15min notice doesnt work as intented btw, its more like a 30 sec notice. Its not a big deal tho, but would be helpful imo.
If youre to lazy to logout to check the timer you can always go on ur browser history to check the time you entered gtop100 voting page. Other than that there is no other time to check ur next voting time.
