Corsair HP Wash Concerns

Hello! I currently have a level 41 gunslinger that I want to get ~9k hp on to be able to survive HT. I start adding a bit of base int in from level 34-40 so I have 34 base int as of now and 26 more from equips.

Would it still be possible for me to reach the 9k mark by around level 160 or so? Or would it be recommended that I remake my sair

(I would like to keep this character if possible as I have already spent RP on it)

 

You're gonna need a lot more than that. You might have to go with around 150-200 base Int and remake.

 

If I started pumping ap into int right now until I hit 170 base, would you say that it's still possible, Plenty?

 

Well the tail is what hits ~9k and apparently corsairs are supposed to be nowhere near the tail to begin with

Tail doesn't hit 9k. The tail hits up to 34k damage. The 9k damage can hit anybody . it is a magic or ranged attacked, one of them, not sure.

 

I started adding base int at level 75. Ended at 210 (130+80) int. Washed all int out at level 160, hope this gives you an idea of your potential (even though this is a night lord and your a corsair).

 

As he stated, he's an NL and you're a corsair. Corsairs gain an average of 18 HP per wash and lose 16 MP.
NLs gain an average of 22 HP per wash and lose 12 MP, so it is relatively easier to wash an NL. I made a HP washing plan for my friend and I had him get ~210 total int from level 65 to 135, and then 120 total int from 135 to 155, and he would have generated just enough MP to wash to 9k. However, the friend I was planning this for had low level int equips he could use (so he had ~50 int from level 20 already) so you might want to factor that in.

 

I was using the assumption of mp washing which would lead to him gaining avg of 18 hp (16-20) per wash and loosing 12 mp.


@KublaiKhanh you may want to check into mp washing vs. regular hp washing depending on your playing style i.e, how often you play. There are a few factors that may change your mind to however you want to go about this but 9k isnt a terribly hard goal to reach. Good luck with it!

So I guess the consensus now is for ranged chars, NLs, Sairs, BM, to have 9k hp (without HB just incase) by 155 for HT?
But for sairs is this still recommended? Like would it be smart to have 9k hp for sairs when zakking and other bosses? Or should I just rely on HB still...

 

I guess you could use pots that heal less at Zak so even though you have 9k hp, you only heal you to about 5k whenever you get hit. Else I reckon the increased ship hp from maxing battleship in the new source could make up for the higher damage taken by your boat.

Personally, I'm a bit torn between remaking my sair and making a hero for HT.

 

Just learn how to dismount and you can zak with any amount of hp.

 

MP wash. Everyone needs to know about MP washing. Every AP that you don't use for MP washing is a whole lot of free MP that you're not getting, as long as you've got some base INT on you.

If you hit 170 base INT and MP washed every level, then even without equips, that's 80 MP gained per level. That's 5 washes for a pirate, which is 90 HP for a Gunslinger.

But hold on, that INT also provides a free bonus of 17 MP per level even before MP wash. And you gain 1 extra washable MP per level, on average. That's enough for another wash, and 2 MP extra.

98 washable MP gained per level = 110.25 HP that can be gained through washing. Add that to the 22 HP you gain per level, and you'll be sitting at 15076 HP at lv155. In addition to the HP you already have. Not including the HP and washable MP gained from your 3rd and 4th job advancement. Not even including the 10 AP you get from those advancements, which can be MP washed into 180 HP which you can just add into the total.

There is a tiny disadvantage, though... you need 11 resets per level. So unless you buy resets from people, you need to vote for four days to afford the resets you use when you level up once.

(25% per day is still a HELL of a lot faster than pre-BB GMS!)

But if you're willing to forsake your gaching privileges, and slow the pace of your leveling, then there is no need to delete your character. Keep that RP. And within 10 months you'll have a lv155 sair with damn near 18k HP without having to buy nothing from nobody!

Yeah... it's probably not a terrible idea to buy a few resets from people, though.

Edit: checked the formulas, and it seems that Gunslingers gain 25 HP on average per level and not 22. One way or another, 170 base INT is definitely more than enough.

 

I had 170 base int on my corsair and mp washed until ~lvl120. Now, at lvl170 i'm sitting at 7.8k hp and over 6k mp
