I think this is probably the right place to ask...? Anyway, heya - I just found out about this place and it sounds like it might be my cup of tea. I didn't even play MS back in the 'good old days', but there are several things about the system here I like the look of better. Just a couple of enquiries: Firstly, what's the state of Maple Island? As I understand it, over the course of time in normal MS, it's shrunk, then people have been able to go back to it, trade items back to it, etc, kind of making Islanders pointless. They were one of the things I was interested in, but by the time I started playing MS that ship had kind of sailed. Is the island on this server the same, or is it an older version or something like that? And what about swearing? I've looked around and it seems to be disallowed, mostly; this doesn't really bother me because I don't ever generally swear. However, I would like it if I could get away with using this username for a character - I'm used to it and I guess I'm already being a chancer by registering with it on the forums, but ah sure xD Would a character called Billy Bitchcakes be cool, or would it be asking for a ban? Is it a pointless thing to ask because you can't use that many characters anyway? I know nothing - educate me ;]

Names like Dick and Bollocks got accepted and after all, female dog cakes aren't technically curse words About Maple Island: Im pretty sure theres a small islander community in this server. I bet if youre creative you can smuggle items there, but the purists currently inhabiting the Island would never accept you as their equal!
Ahaha, I was just looking at the ingame quotes thread and saw the quote about milf porn. I was like, "Alright, Billy Bitchcakes has to be okay." I'd be a purist myself; smuggling stuff back to the island would kind of defeat the purpose of the challenge imo xD If I ever find myself going stir crazy, I could always make another character sure ;] Nice to know that there's a little community, too.
If we said most of the stuff from that in-game quotes thread nowadays we'd be banned. I wouldn't suggest using that as a reference. I totally support you keeping that name though.
Lol, don't worry, I'm not taking that as a set standard xD That was a joke more than anything; if I thought that thread could be used as an indicator, I wouldn't have posted asking about this. EDIT: Anyways, the second question is irrelevant now as I've downloaded the game and it doesn't like the handle xD I'll have to make up a compromise. Thanks to those who've replied :]
If your name is found offensive and isn't completely unreasonable you'll be asked to change it, or if you're unlucky have it changed for you. Swearing in public chat isn't bannable, but if you're being a dick to someone (swearing or not) or use certain words that the admins have decided aren't politically correct enough for this server, you'll be (temp) banned.
In brief: - Swearing is generally fine, but being extremely rude/abusive towards other players isn't; - Don't use racist/homophobic slurs in all chat or smegas (buddy/guild chat is fine) - Keep sexually explicit stuff out of smegas @ Doritos - it isn't to do with political correctness, it's to do with the fact that quite a lot of people genuinely find homopobic/racist slurs offensive. You have to remember that while some people move in social circles where such words are used casually, others don't. About Maple Island: as far as I know, smuggling stuff into Maple Island is now no longer possible. Please be aware that quests and mobs on Maple Island only give 1x exp until you reach level 11. This was done so that people who love quests could do all the Maple Island quests without over-levelling for first job advance.
