Has anyone here got positive on covid testing or think that they had covid 19? If so then can you guys share your whole experience? Your symptoms, testing, treatment, etc. I have mild fever and I have testing appointment for tomorrow. I am getting anxious. P.S. Don't ignore covid 19. please wear mask and take very cautious. Don't think that it's irrelevant for you and think you are safe. Not only you are risking yourself but you are risking your family and whole household
I don't know if I've gotten it myself (most likely but I would need blood work to find out by this point) and I am not a doctor , but my whole immediate family that I live with has gotten it and many of my close friends so maybe my second hand experience can be of some help. The testing process is fairly quick; they stick a swab all the way up your nose and twist it around. It's going to burn, but it's not too bad. Lack of smell as weird as it sounds has been the most common symptom I've seen. The rest of the symptoms have been all over the place to regular cold symptoms to very serious breathing issues that require hospitalization. If you experience shortness of breath or something like that before you get your test results (I'm not sure how quick they are in your area, but here it takes about a day to get them), get an oxygen saturation meter (they're about $30 USD here where I live). Things can quickly go from just feeling like you have a flu to something much worse when your breathing gets compromised so it's important to stay on top with monitoring yourself. I hope your test returns accurate and negative. If you test negative and your symptoms get worse, please retest again if possible because the tests aren't perfect. Somewhat recently I spent some time with a friend who had very minor symptoms and tested negative, but later got sicker and retested as positive. Fortunately nothing happened to me for being stupid and careless, but it goes to show that it's important to isolate even if your test returns negative. If you have more questions, maybe I can help.
Brief summary from my covid period - Flu symptomps for 2-3 weeks - afterwards i experienced tiredness, i was exhausted, had headaches, was short on breath, had concentration issues, and had like 50% of my energy - Heart and lung problems are included aswell - 10 weeks after i've lost most of the symptoms and 'd say im 80% recovered. - i might get symptoms back if i'll burn too much energy
https://royals.ms/forum/threads/how-has-covid-19-affected-you.179273/#post-1048250 Your risk of developing COVID-19 is heavily dependent on your exposure - Have you been in close contact with anyone who you know has/had COVID-19? Were you wearing a mask / washing your hands during this encounter if so? How endemic is COVID in the community you live in? If the answers to the above are no/yes/not at all then your risk of COVID based on epidemiological factors is probably relatively low. Remember that in addition to respiratory precautions (wearing a mask, socially distancing >1.5m) COVID can occasionally be transmitted via surface contact as well, so it's really important to wash your hands with soap or sanitiser regularly.
Thanks for the reply. I was tested positive. I had noticeable symptoms few days prior the testing day but I am feeling a lot better. I visit and go see my mom once a week. I didn't expect Covid would transfer from her. Health department and the hospital told us that we should quarantined ourselves until next Tuesday.
Most people with the virus appear to have a monophasic illness (i.e they don’t get better then get worse). I would suggest doing a full clean of all your household surfaces. Try not to reuse the same mask(s) you’ve worn, and if you have access to one-time-use masks once you’re out of quarantine, change them at least 4hourly. Good luck. Remember to seek medical attention if you develop difficulty with breathing.
