Hello fellow Royalers! I am Meiyaru of Peach The purpose of this post is to inquire from the community about choosing between the High-Level leech locations that are currently available. (Skelegon/Skelesaurus | Petrifighter | Duku} Two questions in particular come to mind: From a leech buyer’s perspective with a character level 110 and above, what factors make you decide on one leech over another? *110 is the level required for Duku =============================================================================================================================== Secondly... Which of these three leech locations do you think a random leech seller will net the highest experience in 1 hour? Assume we pick a random seller for all 3 locations and bought an hour of leech from all 3. Which map [The Dragon's Nest Left Behind | Ulu City Center | Destroyed Park I] is the seller with the most experience gained in 1 hour most likely to be on? Assume: **(Petri+Skele: 1-hit \ split | Duku: 3Mage / 3Split)** ================================================================================================================================ Below are some of the questions that came to mind when drafting the two questions above. ================================================================================================================================ Price: >Will you opt for the cheapest leech in hopes of saving mesos? >Will you pay more for a leech if the seller is a lower level? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Availability: >Do you just take whatever leech is available at the time? >Will you buy a solo leech if no partner is available? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leech seller / Partner level: >Do you inquire about your seller’s level? What about your partners assuming a split leech? >What level do you consider too high for for your seller / partner? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MW20 Availability: >How important is it that your leech seller has MW20? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reliability/reputation of leech seller: >Do you go with tried and true sellers? >Do you try to "buy local?" >Do you avoid leech buyers with even a whisper of mistrust? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *These are just some of the questions that immediately came to mind. This list is not meant to be a definitive list of any sort. I simply want to know what influences the communities decision making when it comes to buying High-Level leeches. Any and all input is welcome! Thank you for Reading!
This is just personal experience from chatting with skele leech buyers when I used to sell leech. It seems like skele leech is often a pretty big toss up. If the seller is really good, the exp/meso is probably slightly better than petri, but if the seller doesn’t know the rotation, it can be significantly worse. Similarly, the seller’s level matters significantly less than the seller’s skill for skele. (At 17x, I was often told that I gave significantly more exp than 15x sellers who didn’t know their spawn timing and rotations.) For leech buyers, I’d suggest buying from sellers you trust or see often, or maybe ask for a short demo of their rotation before committing to a full hour. For those who are curious what rotation should look like, search for Ehud’s skele rotation or LHCMachine’s skele leech sell thread on the forum. The LHCMachine one has a little extra flair to make it more efficient when buffing, and looks almost as slick as it gets I have to say
@Jesseh Thank you for your feedback! I want to highlight your point of buying a leech as supporting a friend/person. I really like this idea and hope more people share my sentiment. So often we forget that buyers and sellers are all just people within the same community. The Royals community is a very friendly one from my experience. I hope it stays this way for future Royalers. @silv thank you for your feedback as well! I looked into Ehud's previous posts and found a very detailed guide about the experience rates about skele. His guide gives expected EXP rates at skele's and I think that is a very helpful tool especially for newer players who have limited resources.
Price: I will generally opt for skele leech, as it is the cheapest of the three and with a good leecher you can get a lot of value out of your money. Level has never really been a factor for me in buying leech - as long as they're good and know their rotations I'll buy for the normal rates, rather than paying more for a lower lv leecher. Availability: When I was leeching my corsair to 135, I generally would wait around in fm chatting to mates and when I saw a smega for skele leech I would head over. For these higher lv leeches, I definitely will not opt for solo over split. The only exception is if I am self-leeching. Leech Seller/Partner Level: I never really care for the seller's level, as mentioned before, but rather their rotations. As a 187 seller of skele leech myself, I am well aware that at my level, hitting the right rotations I can still compete with lower lv sellers despite being many levels above them. As far as partner levels go, I'm never too fussed if it's a quiet time for leech. But if there is an abundance of buyers, I would definitely prefer getting someone within ~5-10 levels of myself. MW20: Very important. Most of my calculations for hp washing were based around leveling up with mw20. Reliability/Reputation: I generally check the community blacklist (new and old) to see if they have a bad name among the community for selling leech. I have plenty of friends who sell leech, so next time I make a character I will definitely source my leech from them, as I know for sure that I can trust them to get my money's worth. I agree with silv's point on how there are a lot of inconsistencies with the way that people sell skele leech. It's a simple rotation to learn and super easy to find your own rhythm with buffing and looting the map. For a while, I used to just mindlessly tc in a circle around the map, and when I swapped to Ehud's skele rotation, I could notice the difference instantly.
First I try people recommended to me, but if they are not available, I go "local." Then during every leech session, I record the money spent and XP gained per hour, which I'm surprised a lot of people do not do. After testing various people, I stick to the best seller and shower them with my mesos. All I look for is the most XP gained for my money.
