So I started a lowish DEX brawler for fun a couple years back and eventually got it up to level 106, but since I was allocating all my stats naturally I never leveled up with any kind of INT. My current HP is 5816 and my current MP is 2585 at Lv.106 and my stats are STR 512 DEX 35 INT 4 LUK 4. So my question is if I wanted to be able to experience all the content in Maplestory on this character would it still be possible or should I start over? I have some pretty decent untradable gear on this character so I'd prefer to not have to start over, but I'm not super familiar with all the washing mechanics and it seems that the calculators online don't have options for Buccaneers
Is that your current HP / MP without any added from gear? If so then you can wash 32 times which will give you an additional 32 * 40 hp (per wash) = 1280 hp. If not then your possible washes will be lower. Without any washing, you will have around 8.5k HP by 155 just from natural hp gains from leveling to 155. 4th job will give you 925 more hp, taking you to 9.4k hp which is bare minimum enough to do HT with. I'd recommend leveling up with int gear so you can HP wash a bit. 12-14k lets you pretty much access MOST of the content of the game with a few exceptions. You can easily reach 12k at a high level from just natural hp gain and 14k is more than doable if you level with int gear. There's also the big HP quest which will give you an additional 500 hp if you complete it all. You don't need to remake your character, but you might barely get by so it's up to you whether discomfort now (remaking) is worth comfort later.
Is it worth it to try and AP reset him so he has INT and also level him up with INT equips? Would be expensive, but I could potentially maximize my washing if it's worth the trouble since I started late.
I think it isn't worth doing that because it costs too much and you would probably get a better result if you spent that meso paying for leech on a new character with int and int gear from scratch. You'll be able to do most of the content as you currently proceeding, so you don't absolutely have to remake to enjoy most of what the game offers since bucc has a high natural hp gain. Up to you to decide which path to take, they're both good, but have their downsides as well.
Even if everything fails, there's still good news. Buccs can reach 30k HP even after lvl 200 by manipulating the passive HP boost skill. It will just cost an astronomical amount of ap resets but you can consider it an option in the hope you become super rich later.
Don't forget the monster collector medal, scar helm, mon, bfc that all give some hp. You can also scroll pet items for hp now too!
I've heard that before but I haven't been able to find a guide showing how to take advantage of it. Does it have to do with removing points from Improve MaxHP?
Yes it does have something to do with playing around [Improve MaxHP] skill. Refer to this thread, the 1st reply from Joon.
