    Hello Royalers,

    Many public VPNs are permanently banned due to hackers using them. If it is your first time using an already banned VPN, an admin can detach your account from the banned IP. Keep in mind that you are responsible for the internet connection you use to connect to MapleRoyals and that if, because of circumstances, are required to use a VPN, please use a private VPN that provides you a unique IP address to avoid the risk of this happening again. After you have been banned a second time for using a VPN that a hacker uses, you will not be unbanned and the permanent ban will prevent you from playing on the server.

    When filing a ban appeal, please be patient and allow at least 24 hours for an admin to look into your appeal. Do not make multiple posts or threads, it does not help anyone in any way.

    so what exactly is Vpn? basically just public wifi at random locations with no password? if my internet has a password does it make it private vp?

    No. That's not what VPN means.

    Using whatever network you're connected to (e.g. your home WiFi, public WiFi at random location i.e. Starbucks or whatsoever), a VPN is like a network tunnel where data is routed through a different network (i.e. not from your home network). So when you're connected to a VPN, your public IP address will change accordingly.

    For MapleRoyals, people use private VPN (i.e. paid VPN) because many FREE VPNs are banned because people use it to hack on the server.

    To make a clearer example, imagine you want to access your school system when you're at home, but your school system only allows access internally within the school compound (intranet). So how do you come about accessing it from home? Simple; using VPN. In this way, it will be as though your home laptop/PC is connected to the school network but in reality, you're not (because obviously, you're at home and not in school). Like I mentioned earlier, it's like a network tunnel.

    so a secured network witch only i have access too would be a private vpn? and i am safe to use that? how come hackers use public vpn so their accounts wouldn't get banned but just the network ?

    Yes, a private VPN would require you to purchase it, so it's dedicated to your usage only.

    Hackers use public VPN in order to prevent getting banned from their home network. But sadly, the ban ties to both IP and their account. Some other reasons players use VPN is due to accessibility issue i guess.

    if their accounts would get banned and not the network why would they continue hacking? but anyways what if I'm just connected to a public vpn network and a hacker hacks the game on the network and gets caught but I am not online the game? lets just say for instance I was just on the forums. would I still be safe? this wouldn't effect me?

    When a account gets banned, its BOTH the network and account that gets banned.

    For your next point, you will be banned as well (for game, not forum). That's the purpose of this thread - do not use public VPN.

    if it's both the account and network why would you bother hack on a public vpn? but i would only get banned if I was online the game?
