I'm at level 105 now and realise that I do have much less damage than lukless mage of similar level. So I have the question as in the title. I guess my question is (1) will it increase my damage, (2) any side effect, (3) any extra thing I could do to improve the efficiency of resetting my AP? Any comment is welcome.
hey (1) your damage is based upon your magic. 1 int = 1 magic. so it will increase your damage if you don't need that luk to wear other stuff that may give you int/ma (2) side effect: you could lose 10% exp when you die instead of 5%. i'm not sure of the exact luk threshold (3) ap resets are the only way to reset luk into int
how much luk do you have? at 200 you'll still have like a base 23 luk i think ? theoretically your dmg will increase as you'll be adding that LUK to your INT, and on the 1:1 ratio more int more magic dmg. Side effect would include not being able to wear certains equips do to required LUK, but most ppl dont care as i think lukless-low luk is worth it. and yes AP reset is the only way to convert at this point
Thanks for answering! I basically go a normal luk way -- maintain minimum luk that I can wear any equip of my level, so I have 106 luk (~80 base). Is it too much? Recently I also read some posts saying mage's MP increases proportionally with INT as level going up, that is why I'm a bit worried about having too many LUK (i.e. too few INT) so I may also have much less MP than low-LUK mages. Is that true?
MP gained per level up is (total int/10) so in essence you should have only lost 7~8MP per level as compared to your pure int peers as for the damage, the early 4th job part does not require much magic attack if you are planning to sell low level leech (~15k damage when you first get your ult at 120, with around 700 TMA) but for grinding, you might take 1~2 extra casts of the mage ults at the stronger stuff my recommendation is to take the luk reset slow, as it looks like you are a very new player save up 1 APR a day if you can, don't need to rush it focus of saving up for gear, with priority in this order, with your level kept in mind (unless you have some stuff already) 16~20 int bathrobe > 15~20 TMA earrings > ~16~22 int green bandana > VIP horn tail pendant (do check if you have enough hp and mp to not get 1 shotted)> 160~ 170 TMA elemental wand > zakum helmet with 60% int scrolling adventure (preferably 28 total int and above) you don't have to remake your character as the time required to train for a new player is pretty harsh just enjoy the game
heyyyyy, thank you so much for the detailed reply! yes I'm quite new, and I do not have any goal in mind but just to have some fun. Nevertheless I'm still surprised by the damage difference so very curious about the theory behind. First time to hear the gear stuff, very impressive... now I see why some FM items (including some scrolls) are so expensive. Where can I get Zakum helmet and VIP horm tail pendant? Other stuff I've seen in FM.
damage difference is on an exponential scale, so when you have a 50MA increase, you will see that from 750MA->800MA your damage increases more drastically than 700->750MA zakum helmet and horn tail pendant are untradable equips, so you can't buy them directly to get them, you will need to get a party to kill them, usually done as a service zakum - 60-80mil for VIP service, you get 2-5x zakum helmets per run, one of a kind so if the scrolling is bad or the base stats are bad, you WILL have to drop it to pick a new one HTP - 250~300mil for VIP, iirc it was 2-5 pendants per run, same rules as zak helm, where if its bad, throw also you will need to pick up the HTP egg to upgrade the pendant, theres a buyer's guide somewhere on the forums
