Sorry to be making a thread that has seemingly been written by other users for the thousandth time, but I had a few quick questions concerning the downloading process of MapleRoyals. I understand that my anti-virus program showing that the file has a "Trojan Virus" is just a False Positive. I've looked at other threads and found the same answers and outcomes regarding the issue, all saying that there are no viruses whatsoever, but can I get one solid "It's perfectly safe" for me? Regarding the anti-virus program, I've tried looking up guides on turning off "Microsoft Security Essentials" for Windows 7 so that it will no longer delete the file based on the False Positive, but the only solution I've seen is to turn off the "Real-time protection" function. I had heard that it will disable the alerts, warnings, and other reminders, but I also heard that it doesn't accomplish much and the program will still just be running in the background. Is there a way to completely turn it off, or does anyone have an opinion on removing Microsoft Security Essentials off of my computer as a whole? I also saw something regarding disabling the "Firewall" on one thread that asked about the same concerns, but not mentioned much elsewhere. Should I disable my firewall for the download? Will it be okay to enable it once the download is complete? If I do end up keeping Microsoft Security Essentials, is it safe to enable it once the download is complete? I read that I should make an exception for the file as well, but should that be done before or after enabling the anti-virus program again? Thank you so much for reading this. Any help is greatly appreciated
It's perfectly safe. Microsoft Security Essentials will probably reenable itself after some time. To remove MSE there's a few options: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/2483120 You shouldn't need to disable your firewall, but if you cannot connect to the game then you should create an exception in your firewall for the client.
