Hi all, I'm a noob at HP washing and had a few questions, specifically on washing for Dark Knights. 1) Is it too late to start HP washing at Lvl 82? I currently have a DK at this level and just found about HP washing. Is it still possible to reach 30k with HB if I start now? Questions for if I need to remake character: 2) Will there ever be a situation where I have extra AP points available and cannot continue to decrease MP? If so, do I save this AP until next level or do I add it to STR? 3) Will I need INT equips and/or will I need to add some AP into INT as I level? 4) At what level do I start adding HP and incorporate washes? Thanks for reading! All the help is greatly appreciated
1) It is not too late to start HP washing at Lv.82, you will be able to reach 30K HP with HB. Remaking your character is not an option (unless you didn't max Improve MaxHP Increase - then it's a whole different story). The questions you asked however, are relevant even when continuing your DK. 2) Yes, you can not remove anymore MP when you reach your Minimum MP cap (which is 4 x level + 156). When this happens, you should have already reached your HP goal. (You can calculate beforehand if your MP will be enough or not) 3) You should not add any AP into INT. Instead, you use only equips that give you extra INT. 4) You start adding HP once you feel the need for it. Personally, I did this somewhere around Lv.150~160 because I wanted to be able to tank a hit from Bodyguard A (which hits about 21K) Let me know if you have any more questions. If not, enjoy your DK and happy Mapling ~
thanks for taking the time to respond! I'm stoked hearing I can still reach 30k, starting a new character sounds like a pain in the ass. Just to clarify... I have 22 INT with my current equips. I'm probably gonna need to do some scrolling/buying. How much INT is good enough? Also, right now I'm putting all 5 AP into STR. Are you saying I don't need to add AP into HP and start washing until 150-160?? Do I keep upgrading only STR for now?
Let me guess, you have about 5300 HP and 600 MP now at Lv.82? The amount of INT from equips depends on the level you want to reach 30K HP. If you're OK with not reaching it before Lv.200, your current INT is enough. However, let's say you want to reach it at Lv.155, and NOT complete the quest which gives you 1000 HP (this means setting your goal to 18750 at Lv.155 in the calculator I will show below). In this case, you need 66 INT from equips (amounting to 70 total INT, +7 MP per level) What I advice as a first step, is to find equips that gives you 8 more INT. With 30 INT, you'll get +3 MP per level compared to just 2 with your current equips. That's good. Keep adding all to STR. When you want more HP, the process will look something like this: Adds 1 AP to HP Removes APs from MP and adds to HP using AP Reset (repeat, repeat, repeat) Removes 1 AP from MP and adds to STR using AP Reset. Done.
Currently at 6201 HP and 776 MP with everything equipped. I'm still a bit confused on the HP washing bit. Wouldn't I still be left with 4 AP points after the first step?
Okay. If you remove your equipment and tell me your HP and MP then, I can do a more exact calculation for you. You do step 1, 2, 3 at the same time (same level). Once you're done, you'll be left with 5 AP (or whatever amount of AP you had when you started) to put in STR, as usual. HP Washing for a Warrior doesn't have to be done (shouldn't be done, in fact) each time you level up. Instead, you simply accumulate MP (by having INT) which is exchanged for HP at a moment in time when you please. If you study those 3 steps, you'll notice that the net result is +/- 0 AP into HP/MP. It's alright and encouraged to ask lots of questions about HP washing. Many are confused by it in the beginning. All the questions and answers found in this thread, can turn out to be useful for another DK with the same questions as you.
honestly, this is more helpful than any thread I've read so far. Thank you for that. Maybe one day I can pay this info forward My current HP and MP with no equips is 6036 / 626. I was able to pick up some earrings and coincidentally picked up a PGC someone dropped in FM (lucky me). My INT is now at 32. Am I good at this point or is funding a nice bathrobe and wooden wand necessary? Maybe a deputy star too?
I'm glad to hear it's helpful Also nice to hear you're lucky enough to find a PGC. Maybe that luck can also prove itself useful when scrolling some little INT equip? Yes because I'd advice to aim for even higher INT. With current INT (32) you'll reach 18750 HP (becomes 30K with HB) at Lv.172. With +8 INT from equips (40 total) → Goal reached at Lv.163 With +18 INT from equips (50 total) → Goal reached at Lv.156. This is what I would advice you to aim for. In my opinion, however, you can go on leveling up with your current gear and upgrade it as you go along. You can also complete a series of quest giving you +1000 HP, and in that case you'll reach 30K at Lv.149 which is great because before Lv.149 you'll not likely need much HP.
I'll buy some INT equips right away. So in retrospect, I'm basically free to start HP washing at any level I'm comfortable with? e.g. Can't I technically wait until I reach LVL 156 (assuming I have 50 INT per level up), then go buy 134 AP resets all at once and trade MP for HP this way? Or is it better to LVL up, use 1 of the AP points to increase HP, then decrease MP to trade for STR (stated in step 1)? Just want to make sure I understand completely.
Yes, the first one. You can, and should wait until LVL 156 and click click click click 134 AP resets and then you'll be done. This is becasue the point added into HP gives a certain amount, and the point moved using AP Resets gives another amount. The latter will give more HP on average (for Spearmen - this varies between classes).
