I have no idea how nobody mentioned this already of it's being taken care of, but there is sometimes a huge delay when you want to pick up a drop that someone else dropped, e.g. when picking up passes for a party quest that someone else dropped. Sometimes it works fine, but sometimes it can take up to 20 seconds.
There is a ~10 second delay between talking to an NPC and trying to pickup an item, regardless of how it was dropped (you, another person, a mob). Is this intentional? Maybe. I would imagine it's to prevent some kind of abuse/item dupe exploit.
hello sirs. i believe this was a change made to prevent instances of smuggling passes/coupons in pqs like kpq/lpq. recall seeing a member of staff mentioning this before.
Hmm, this doesn't make much sense. Why ruin the whole dropping experience for something like smuggling? Smuggling is easily solved by making the entrance NPC remove all related PQ items for all the party members after changing the map.
If you have recently spoken to an NPC there will be a delay before you can loot items. That is not a bug.
No offense, but this is a really weird way to avoid smuggling. You’re basically hurting 98% of the “naive” drop cases in favor of a random smuggle, which you can simply solve by force removing the items when the player changes to the first PQ map, so it’ll be removed regardless if he picked it up before or not. This is how Nexon fixed it. Having a 10 second (or whatever) delay between pickups every time you talk to a NPC is very bad practice.
You are more than welcome to make a feedback thread about how this impacts your specific gameplay, however I will go ahead and close your bug report.
