error code: -2147221008 coinitialize has not been called

    Not sure why all of a sudden I can't play the game anymore when it worked last night...

    click royals to load game.
    window screen pops for for about 5 seconds.
    stops responding, forcing closing with this message : error code: -2147221008 coinitialize has not been called

    Not sure how to fix, any ideas?

    I have the same problem, haven't figured it out myself. Restarting didn't help.

    Okay try messing with your compatibility settings. AKA switching modes from Windows 98, XP service pack 2 and 3. Worked for me. Idk how stable this fix it but it got me to log in.

    For this error, I just keep on launching the client. Most of the time it works within 5 tries.
