Hey y'all, Just trying to get back into good old Maplestory. I heard this server is one of the best, so I thought I should give it a shot yesterday. It didn't work the first time, so I went through the troubleshooting and followed the steps. After reinstalling and restarting my computer several times, disabling my antivirus and also adding the folder as an exception, I have almost given up trying to launch MapleRoyals I keep getting this error code and it's just not working at all. I wanted to know if any of y'all would be willing to help a brother out, and see if my laptop could get the client running! I appreciate the help!
You said you have gone through the troubleshooting steps, but just to make it easier to help, can you list those steps?
Sure, I was able to change the compatibility settings. I went through using Windows 98 / Windows ME. I also tried using Windows 7 compatibility as well. In the compatibility settings, I also changed to reduced color mode (8bit 256 color), run as admin option, and I even tried tweaking some other choices as well as I kept reading around the forum in here. I also restarted my computer several times after doing these changes. I went ahead and uninstalled, deleted the folder, redownloaded the installation and reinstalled again just to make sure that maybe my file was corrupted or something.. I have Avast as my antivirus, and I also made an exception in Avast so that it won't block the game from starting. (Every time I launch MapleRoyals it says it detected a virus so I made an exception for that folder). There was also another part that I read where it said that I would need to change my refresh on the monitor to 60hz, and I double checked that and it is at 60hz right now as well. Sorry for the long post, but I just want to play and I don't know if I overlooked something. Thanks for your help btw
I don't know if we are allowed to double post on here, but I just wanted to know if anyone could help? It's been a couple of days. Or if it won't work out, I guess that's alright as well. Thanks y'all.
