After taking a break from the game for four months, I decided to check back in again so I reinstalled the game from the website. While my compatibility settings have not changed since the last time I played, I am now getting "error code : 11001 No such host is known" I understand that some Windows 8 and higher users have had issue with this, but none of the currently existing threads have offered a solution. If anyone has anything substantial to offer, I'd love to read it. Thanks for reading.
That's strange, error 11001 usually happens when there is some sort of internet problem like loss off connection. Did you try restarting your modem and pc?
Apologies for the late reply, I did a fresh installation (that is, I trashed the earlier installed files completely) and reinstalled the game on my C drive instead of my E drive that it was on earlier. The game worked fine after that. I cannot understand what the initial problem was however.
