Hello, I'd love to have the family rep system implemented in this server. I remember it still being alive during v62, and it was very convenient. It would also be interesting to see how it spans out over a smaller community. Thanks!
I'm torn on it. I loved it in gms, but I see that we have no purpose for 2x drop, 2x exp, and things like that. Plus I have no clue how hard it would be to implement and tweak it to fit our server.
I also loved it in GMS but feel as though it doesn't really fit into Royals. 2x XP/Drop are already out of the question and it'd probably be more work than it's worth to implement it. Teleports would be the only use and we already have really cheap teleport rocks.
Haha, that's fair enough. I was just putting out there, but you make good points. I do miss the spirit and nature of the family rep system itself though. Plus they even removed it in current GMS, so it makes me long for it even more xD But as you said, the work required to implement it into the system may not be worth a small part of nostalgia. That's totally understandable
Actually, the family system wasn't really a 'conversation' thing. It was a family tree thing that encouraged people to train/level and help out the people in their family. http://www.basilmarket.com/screen/MapleStory-BasilMarket-Screen-162970.jpg http://grabilla.com/04a0d-f9a9ab42-c761-49f9-86df-1c17f680b836.png Honestly I loved it. It was unique and creative and it was really fun to find active people to Jr. But it would need a major change to be useful here- as we don't need 2x exp or drop, and teles are of limited usefulness as well because of cheap telerocks.
I'm not saying this is a reason for or against it, but the family system didn't come until v67, so it was never in v62 to begin with. This may also mean that the client does not have the necessary information to do the family system even if we wanted to (I stopped playing MS before the family system was introduced so I have no idea how it works, nor do I know what the client does/doesn't have to accomplish it).
My own experiences of the family system have been fairly negative, I'm afraid - what I mostly remember about it was the amount of drama and breaks within the family. Also, I think multiple exp/drop buffs wouldn't be a good idea here because our current rates keep things challenging without being too much of a grindfest. I feel we've achieved a good equilibrium with the rates, and I wouldn't want us to lose that. (*Remembers the pre-wipe days of summer 2013*)
