COVID has got me thinking about the amazing trips I've had and taken for granted.

If I had to choose, it'd be Japan. What about you guys?

I love travelling, and naturally I don't have any favourites per se. Places that spring to mind:

    Food:
    - Japan
    - Australia (Melbourne, Sydney)
    - Canada (Vancouver)
    - China (Yunnan, Xi'an, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai)
    - Singapore

    Scenery:
    - New Zealand (Queenstown)
    - Switzerland (Lucerne and surroundings)
    - Brazil (Rio)

    Culture / History
    - France (Toulouse, Paris)
    - Italy (Rome, Venice)

    Cities I would live long-term:
    - Auckland
    - Melbourne
    - Vancouver
    - Berlin

Can't wait to visit some places again, and new places I'd planned (or not) to venture to!

I agree with most of this list (at least with the places I've been to since I haven't gone to all of them yet).

Food, I'd add Hong Kong to that list. I had some Michelin starred dim sum (Tim Wan Ho) and was by far best dim sum I had at an extremely affordable price (at least compared to US dim sum). Also had Michelin starred roast goose there. I love roasted meats in general.

Singapore definitely a big favorite of mine. I ate about 3 meals per SITTING. It was so cheap ($2 a plate) and I was there for only 3 days, so I just went hopping at the hawker stalls. Unfortunately not much to do in the country itself for a long term vacation imo, but it's so clean and the malls are so fancy. MBS is so nice inside, and even has a small built in canal that you can take a ride down, like in Venice.

Japan, I think this one doesn't need an explanation. I had some former Michelin starred ramen (but they increased their prices). I love gyukatsu. I've had 5AM sushi in the fish market before (woke up at like 3AM to get in line). The list goes on and on for Japan.

I'd also add Korea to this list cause I'm a big Koreaboo and I just love Korean Fried Chicken, Korean BBQ, tteokbokki, jokbal, and Korean soju is so cheap there! ($1.50 at the convenience store).

Bangkok was also a nice city. I had the best street food in Bangkok. Some $1 noodles in front of my hotel. It was so good, I dreamt about it when I came back to the US HAHA. Also had some fresh seafood there (a bit pricey, but it's seafood). Ate lots of street food (my stomach wasn't feeling it but Pepto Bismol ftw). And I LOVE mango sticky rice.

For scenery, Queenstown was absolutely beautiful. I skydove over Queenstown (I'm AFRAID OF HEIGHTS). But it's considered the adrenaline capital of the world, so I was like why not! The view is so nice, I was like why not see it from a bird's eye view.

Switzerland is also very beautiful. I loved the Swiss Alps so much. It was truly a Magical Winter Wonderland. I was sad I was alone and couldn't share the views with someone else, but it was just absolutely amazing. Prices are not though. Crazy expensive city...

And a local spot - I did a trip to Yosemite as I live in the Bay Area. The views were amazing. I decided to camp there overnight, after Christmas (never again as it was -8C outside). I took some photos of the sunset and sunrise and it was just amazing. Also star gazing at night is just

I get to travel for work so I'm lucky to have been able to see so many countries now. I'm hoping this all goes away soon so I can travel again. My next plans are going to Paris for my birthday and Mont St Michel as well.
