Well hello everyone I'm not sure if it is a bug or not, I just remember that at the old days back then in GMS those monsters were'nt so rare and their spawn time was not that high, I mean it takes them like few min to spawn again altough they are not bosses or even rare monster to start with- This makes them hard to find and to achieve their monster card List of Monsters- Werewolves Lycanthropes Tauromacis Taurospear Male Boss Crimson Tree Dark Yeti & Pepe MT-09 Chief Grey Wild Cargo I'm sure that there are more monsters that should not have that high spawn rate to start with since they are not mini bosses- For example- Wild Cargo has its own map "Wild Cargo Area"- the whole map has like 10 wild cargos.. and it take a lot of time to respawn so you just need to CC, this was not the game play of GMS that i remember nor the porpouse of the monster- it should'nt be rare.. Hope devs can solve that bug altough its not that critical but its a good thing to change for the whole community that look for monster cards Thanks for Reading <3
bump hope someone notice from staff/devs since i dont see any reason for low mob spawns, for example- at this video you can see the real spawn rate of wild cargos compared to 4 in 1 min at mapleroyals..
In my opinion, I'm very 50 / 50 on the matter. I feel as if having difficulty levels to obtaining different monster cards is a good thing. However, I don't know how much of a spawn increase / timer decrease you're looking to be changed. Maybe some of the monsters cooldown timers could be lowered (ex: MT-09's changed from 30 min cooldown, to say, 15 or 20 minutes), and a slight increase in spawn (for say Tauromacis / Taurospears) could be beneficial as the maps are frustrating to navigate. As someone who has farmed all of these cards, I wouldn't have complaints with buffs personally. However, making the cards equally obtainable as normal monsters you encounter, would be something I'm personally against. In the event of buff changes going thru, I would also recommend adding D-Roy and Homunscullo to the list of lower respawn cooldowns. Just my thoughts.
The point is that I feel like its kind of a bug should be fixed.. What I mean is that monsters like Wild Cargos, Taurospears, Lycantropes, Jr. Dark Yeti etc- are not "Rare" monster, they used to be just like any monsters in game... I dont think that their spawn rate has something to do with "cards hunting", cause if it was related to cards hunting- why picking those monster? why not picking red snail as "rare" monster? The idea is that even if I dont wanna hunt for cards.. Lets say I wanna explore and train for fun like we used to do at the old days, those monsters werent rare at all, this is a bug that should be fixed..
This video stems from a version of the game that came out later than what Royals is based on. The spawn rates and even mob locations of Victoria Island maps were moved around and tweaked at some point.
I do remember that time when they changed and moved some maps and mobs location but still it feels like the spawn rates of some monsters is kinda bugged, was it always like that when werewolves and lycanthropes had about 1min spawn cooldown etc..? And if it was, can it be changed in royals? I even remember playing at MapleRoyals few years ago before we moved to v0.83, we had extremly high spawn rates everywhere- like doubled or trippled than usual so i think its something that can be changed
I posted this awhile back. Maybe it can be of use to you, maybe not. But sometimes strategies are what are required to make the most of situations! If everything were equal to train on / farm, it just wouldn’t feel like MapleStory. And if you ask me, monster cards are definitely important to the game. Due to the Legendary Collector Medal, being one of the strongest medals in the game (arguably the strongest).
