My favorite class has always been night lord but it seems it is not recommended to use without funding or should I still be able to? And what is the best armor for night lords? If not how much funding should I have before I am able to make one? And what class should I make in the meantime? Finally I am confused about scrolling, is there a way to prevent destroying your weapon?
I don't know much about Night Lords but in general, LUKless mages are the best classes to start without any funding. Spoiler: LUK mage rant There's a common misconception that lukless mages require more funding than luk mages but that's just blatantly wrong. Lukless does the most damage with little to no funding and regular luk mages or low luk mages need a godlike amount of funding to do the same amount of damage a lukless mage does. The only real funding you would need as a Night Lord that can't be improved later on in the game would be HP Washing (plenty of guides on this if you just search the forums). If you get a ZHelm and a few small INT equips it shouldn't be a problem to wash to 5.6k hp by level 155 for Horntail. Zakum won't be a problem by level 135 even without HP washing. HP washing is a luxury that funded players indulge in but isn't necessary to have fun. You will not do much damage and it will be hard to make money as an NL if you have no funds to begin with but then again it's a private server so money isn't very hard to come by. If you really like NL's I suggest you make it first but otherwise a bishop isn't a bad idea to start with. Good luck!
I see, another question I forgot to ask: is the hp and mp increase per lvl the same throughout? Like if I lvl once at lvl 10 and I get 10 mana and 30 health (hypothetical) will it be the same at lvl 50 and 100? So I can calculate how much washing I'll actually need for 5.6k at lvl 155.
Not sure about that question but here's a good NL guide that Sila made(provided how much washing you will need for 5.6khp at 155) http://royals.ms/forum/threads/a-comprehensive-night-lord-guide.23303/
It's possible to start off with a Night Lord, but it's not recommended. It's better to have funding for washing and some starter gear, which is easy to get with a Bishop. However, if you truly hate Bishops, it's better to start off as a NL, since it's hard to play a class without the motivation to do so. As @seanc said, I recommend checking out the NL guide by Sila and me, since there's a whole HP washing section there. And no, you can't prevent destroying your weapon with Dark Scrolls. Only way to not blow up items is to use 10, 60 or 100 percent scrolls instead of 30 and 70.
Best armor would be a level 70+ thief top and a level 80+ thief bottom. Both of these tops provide dual stats that you can utilize for capping your Dex and adding on DPS. My rule of thumb for 5.6k HP is get a Zakum Helmet, scrolled Wooden Wand, scrolled Raggedy Cape and Silver Deputy Star as soon as possible and you should be fine.
