I'm trying to find the right class for me. I want a class that's good at mobbing as well as bossing. Bishop sounds like it would fit the bill, but it seems to be more of a support role as just healing/buffing. I don't need to be the best damage, but I like to solo and I don't know if Bishop is right for that

You like solo? Bishop is definitely the right class since you'll be grinding/leeching solo, while earning income from it!

I personally dislike bishops. Just get a HS mule and make a f/p. The gear and mastery books are nearly 90% cheaper.(meteor 30 is 125-200mil. Genesis 20 and 30 are around a billion mesos) And you can sell leech for so much more with a f/p. Petris is 150 Mil an hour. Also, they automatically do 150% more damage because of their 3rd job skill. And nearly all undeads (bishop grinding spots) are also weak to fire. Unfortunately, you will not be bossing with f/p or i/l.

You want something that can boss and mob. Probably go with a hero or DK then if you don't want to go mage.

Bishop is ideal for soloing. If you want to strike out on your own, such as doing the ToT quest line, you're fully loaded with buffs, as well as damage dealing that keeps you out of harm's way. If you want to join a party, just about everyone likes HS; if that gets boring, you can help attack. Bishop is versatile, adaptable, and self sufficient; exactly why it's my favorite class.

If this is your first character, bishop and dark knight will probably be the best choice if you want to avoid remaking later due to hp washing.

Bishop is the cheapest way to start your maple royals career. Just pump everything into INT, and you can basically make it to 4th job with almost no gear.

Dark knight will probably be the only character viable to reach enough hp for HT/30k hp with no funding, no base INT, and no leeching. All you need is a few very cheap int gear when you lvl up. I'm talking really cheap like 5 int lv 8 wand (1m~5m), 6+ lv 25 int cape (5~10m), 4~5 int earring (10~30m), 10 int bathrobe (30m~50m ish?), zak helm at Lv 50 (60m for gold teeth + free zhelm if you have max hb), and/or anything you can get a hold on.

If you grind you will have enough funding to buy those starter int gear by like lv 30~40. If you buy leech all bets are off.

You will have enough mp to wash to 18750 at 4th job, which is 30k hp with hb.
