Hey guys, im new to this server and i've never really had higher level characters in maplestory. I've never played a mage but i wanna make a fire/poison. I was wondering if anybody could help me out with this? Have little to no knowledge on mages. Maybe a guide for this server of one or something that explains a lot? All help will be appreciated<3

Since the Elemental Wands exist in this server, you're better off with a Lukless build.

Unless you like the look of the higher tier gears, you're going to be behind Lukless Mages.

Follow Catlaunch's Training Guide for the most part and you should be okay. I'm not to experienced with Poison Mist training during 3rd Job, but the levels before that should be fairly simple.

If you need help with misting locations, let me know, I am currently a semi-active 99 F/P Mage.

    iCantEven's guide to FP Mages

HERE IS AN EPIKUH FP MAGE, VERY EASE, PIECE OF CAKE, OP GUIDE

    -------------------------------------------------

    WHERE DO I TRAIN?
    you ask

    IT IS VERY SIMPLE
    i say

    --------------------------------------------------

We as FP mages do not train. We PWN, and grace the maps and the FM with our gassy presence. Here are the places at which you will find yourself the most fabulous.

    Lvl 10-20
    Stumps, Slimes
(You won't have much money so just stick with Ellinia)

    Lvl 20-30
    Excavation Site
    Mushrooms in Ellinia trees
    Quests
    KPQ

    Lvl 30-50
    I highly recommend CPQ/LPQ
Jr Pepes, Jr Yetis, Jr Grupins if you like grinding

    Lvl 50-74
*This is going to be a very boring and tedious grind, but will very rewarding once you start misting*

    -Quests, Quests, Quests!
    -Samiho
    -Yetis
    -LMPQ/OPQ (if it works)
    -Jr Selkies

Lvl 74-85 or whenever you have the accuracy to hit skeles
    -Death Teddies
    -Wolf Spiders
    -Blue Kentaurus

*I personally prefer Death Teddies because I hate the WS map. When I trained at Ludi, I used to rotate clockwise between the platforms and mist the whole map. If they didn't die the first time I would remist*

    Lvl 85-120
-Poison Mist at Skeles (2-3 channels)

    Lvl 120-130
-Newts is the fastest place once you get Meteor

    Lvl 130+
    -Newts (solo)
    -Skeles (duo with Bish)
-Frozen part of ToT (solo once you 1hit)
    -Petris and Dukus
    -sell leech
    -bother noobs
    -fm whore
-regret why you ever chose FP mage because Zak mobs are immune

    SUM BOSSES
-Bigfoot (is weak against fire) (but don't try)
-Pianus (can only solo with one)
-Pap (15-20 mins with max paralyze, lvl 20 elquines)

    -------------------------------------------------

NOW I KNOW WHERE TO TRAIN. BUT HOW DO I MAX MY SKILLS?!?!?!
    you ask

    LIEK A BAWS
    i say

    -------------------------------------------------

Here is the order you should max your skills for maximum pwnage

    Lvl 1-10
    1 sp Energy Bolt
    5 sp MP Recovery
    MAX MP Increase
    10 sp Magic Claw
    MAX MP Recovery
    MAX Magic Claw
    MAX Magic Guard

    Lvl 30-70
    1 Teleport
    MAX Fire Arrow
    MAX Meditation
    MAX MP Eater
    MAX Teleport
    MAX Slow
    11 Poison Breath

(Alternatively if you want to max Poison Breath, leave Slow at 11)

    Lvl 70-120
1 Explosion (helps kill mobs after poison)
    MAX Poison Mist
    9 Explosion (10 total)
    MAX Spell Booster
    MAX Element Amplification
    MAX Explosion
    MAX Seal
    MAX Partial Resistance
    1 Element Composition

THERE IS NO REASON WHATSOEVER ANY FOR ANY FP MAGE TO MAX ELEMENT COMPOSITION. IT IS A WASTE OF SP AND LVL 1 PARALYZE IS BETTER THAN MAX EC

*Since your damage is constant with Poison Mist (which leaves only 1HP) there is also no reason to invest in a godly wand. Get a decent one to last until 130 as Meteor will do around 20-30k between lvls 120-130 regardless)

    Lvl 120+
    1 Paralyze
    10 Meteor
10 Elquines (get it ASAP but quest is glitched so beg a GM for help)
    10 MW
    10 Meteor (20 total)
    MAX Elquines
    MAX Paralyze
    MAX Fire Demon
    MAX Infinity
    *optional* MAX Hero's Will
spend the rest of your sp on big bang/mana reflection

Infinity, Big Bang and Mana Reflection are the more useless skills of the bunch. I find it the most useful to max infinity just to save 20 potions (*3.8 = 76k) per 10 mins. Mana reflection is only somewhat useful when bossing and big bang is just there for show.

    -------------------------------------------------

YO JANET, 4TH JOB SOUNDS SO OP BUT HOW DO I GET MY SKILLZ?!?!?!
    you ask

    EZ
    i say

    -------------------------------------------------

Where to find 4th job skillbooks + equivalent price in FM(disclaimer -- this list is incomplete and I would appreciate help from vigilant observers and adventurers)

Elquines, Meteor and Hero's Will have quests for lvl 10 skillbooks
Infinity can be obtained from El Nath PQ (go find a warrior)

Paralyze 20 - Newts (DO NOT BUY FROM FM)
    Paralyze 30 - Leviathan (10-15m)
Elquines 20 - Newts (DO NOT BUY FROM FM)
    Elquines 30 - Oblivion Monks (20m)
    Meteor 20 - Zakum (40m)
Mana Reflection 20 - Elder Wraith (500k but rly it's quite easy to get just poison mist and run)
Mana Reflection 30 - Right Pianus (10, 20m BUT would not recommend having at all)
Big Bang 20 - Dark Wyverns (DO NOT BUY FROM FM)
Fire Demon 20 - Dark Cornians
    Fire Demon 30 - Leviathan (10-20m)
    Infinity 20 - Papulatus (40m)
    Infinity 30 - Zakum (60-80m)

    HAPPY GRINDING, HAPPY LEECHING, HALLELUJAH!

Awesome guide! At what level mist is it effective enough to use against DT's in replace of poison breath/brace? My bf is a f/p mage (Just hit 70!) and has been poisoning DT's for the past 6 levels. What level mist is "worth using" before it's maxed?

I started poison misting at death teddies at lvl 74 (Poison Breath at lvl 12). I had to double mist but the exp was good enough to train efficiently.
