    Description:
For the last few months, I've been surfing forums for marketplace & community posts, guides, and stuff. I think the current body size is too large on my screen (1920x1080) and whenever I wanna read some long text It would give me neck and eye strain since I have to keep moving my head & eyes from left to right. I don't have this issue on mobile-phone since it adjusted accordingly to Mobile-web common sizing
    - Personally, I've done a hack job with some Chrome Styler extensions and the mentioned issue doesn't bother me anymore but some friends sent me our forum picture via Discord and I realize common users don't bother/know how to do that.

    Expected Outcome:
The forum body should be adjusted to a nicer width(like 1200px or so) for any monitor that has a width larger than 1200px

    Screenshots/Attachments:
This roughly should be my expected outcome:

I'll add some direct comparing and let me/ us know your preferences:

    The Improvised(~1200px):

I'm against this suggestion since I hate it when two-thirds of my monitor go unused and I have to scroll and scroll and scroll. My monitor is wide, not tall, and it's aggravating because it seems like every website is still designed to be viewed in Internet Explorer 5 at 1024x768 (or for smartphones). If you want to narrow things down because you prefer it that way, fine... just don't try to force it on everyone else.

I have no idea if any sort of width selector is possible with this forum software, but from what I've gathered, it's pretty old and limited so it might not be possible. But if it is, I'd support the option so everyone can be happier. Maybe a way to force the mobile version to load on desktop?

You're complaining that your monitor is too wide. Use half the monitor then by dragging the window to the side?

Thank you for your opinion, I didn't try to force anything, this is a feedback thread. I think you've missed my point, I created this thread to feedback on the readability of Royals Forum and how it'll improve my as well as common user experience on using the Forum, It wasn't about how it looks on our screen.

Maybe I was a bit aggressive, so I apologize for that. I felt that I needed to say something to show the devs that there are people (or at least just one person) who would be against the idea as it was proposed. I don't want to stay silent, see a change that I don't like go through, then complain and have people tell me "you should have spoken up." So that was me speaking up.

I understood your point. But readability and how things look on our screens is the same thing as well as being highly subjective because we have different monitors, different eyesight, different reading speeds, etc. Changing something to fit your preferences and setup might make it less ideal for others. That's why I suggested a way to make it optional because you can get what you want without stepping on anyone else's toes. Because even if you say you aren't forcing it, if the devs did make a change that limited the maximum width of the forum, then I would indeed be forced to view the forum with this new limit.

I'm not going to pretend I know your situation (or your friends' situations) so I'll just show you mine and explain why it would be bad for me. The top monitor in the pictures is 2560x1440. The bottom ones are 1024x768. I don't have a 1200px wide monitor on hand so that's the closest you'll get. Restricting the width of the forum to roughly 1200px wide means I lose half my main screen's real estate. Even on the thread I chose as an example, with very little text, I still have to scroll down to view the whole thing. Why should my giant main monitor become the equivalent of my secondary monitors while reading this forum?

This is, again, why I want to promote the option of changing the forum width, if possible, instead of a hard limit. Because everyone's situation is different and no one has a crazy setup like mine. Or you can tell your friends to drag the window to the side like itu suggested, which does the same thing with zero dev time, but I felt like giving you a proper reply since I respect your intent.

Closing this due to lack of support by the community and tbh i'd rather have our Devs work on more game related stuff at this time. Maybe if we ever update our forum to Xenforo 2.0 we can consider this as an optional thing.
