I believe this is unfair. I had to suffer the consequences of getting permanently banned about a year ago for this same reason and I got banned off the bat without any warnings. Would I be able to get a warning too or is this person going to get the same consequences as everyone else? The forums are just as if it is in-game, in my honest opinion.

 

I also want to add, there are people "joking" just as I was. Isn't this a bannable offence too? (because he was "joking") I found this thread a few mins ago.

When you got banned the T&C stated that any act of, or making a believable claim of being willing to participate in RWT would result in a permanent ban.
However at the start of 2017 we have revamped the entire T&C and with that some of the rules got changed, and this one was definitely one of them.

Under the current rule, soliciting falls under the GM's discretion rather than just counting as participating in, which is why he and some other guy got banned for 1 month as opposed to a permanent ban.
I understand that this may feel unfair to you, but such rule changes are not retroactive just like the account sharing rule change a few years ago wasn't either.
With that said, I'm afraid I'll have to inform you that we can not consider reversing your ban.

 

So it's fair for others to get a second chance while I have to suffer because you guys decide AFTER to change the rules? How is that fair exactly? Please give me a better reason for your reasonings please. This isn't about being fair anymore. I used to love this community because it was fun and fair. Now it's just going back to who has more power.

 

If 1 year ago you got fined $50 for smoking in a non-smoking area, but 6 months ago they've redesigned that area and now you are allowed to smoke there, you will not get your $50 back from that fine since you smoked there when it was a non-smoking area. The situation has changed and for reasons they have become more lenient to smoking in that zone in current time, but that does not take away that they were not lenient towards it in the past when you broke their rules.

The same goes for what happened here on Mapleroyals. You got banned for breaking a rule under the old source's T&C and your punishment for that was a permanent ban. Now with the launch of the new source we have set up a completely new T&C because a lot on the server has changed and thus the rules had to be updated as well. I'm sorry but a new T&C does not equal a fresh start for those who did the wrong things in the past, and second chances will not be given. So my apologies if you believed you could have had a chance at being unbanned now, but I'm afraid it's not something we can do for you at this time.
