These past couple days I've purchased leeching services from a some random strangers, as well as leeched myself on my own mage. What I've noticed is that some sellers don't seem to give a single damn and are simply claiming their prices on titles alone as some of these practices are a borderline scamazing. Leeching myself casually at Ulu2 my mule gets approximately 20 million exp per hour, emphasis on casually. Yesterday I felt like taking a break and paid a seller 70m for an hour of split Petri leech. At the end of the hour I had received ~22m experience, which is barely more than I receive at Ulu2 that usually goes for half the cost. As with past purchases of Petri I've gotten close to as much as 40m exp per hour with the exact same pricing. Later on I paid another seller 55m for an hour at Skeles and was left with 36m exp by the end with which I was quite satisfied. Then again today I paid yet another seller 55m for an hour of Skele leech only to receive 25m experience for the whole hour. All of these sellers were within a few levels of each other around lvl160. Each one of them also advertised themselves as 1-hit/hs/tc/mw20, yet only one of them was even worth the asking price. At what point can this be considered a scam, and could these people be "reported" to the community blacklist?
Name and shame. In all seriousness, buying leech is like a gamble really, you have people promoting they give you 40m exp/h, to people promoting that they cast twice per wave, but when it comes to their performance it boils down to that initial 70m that you need to invest to see how well they do. It can't be helped really, that's why once you do find a (decent) leecher, people tend to come back for more.
Paying this amount for this Particular service is similar to how services are done in real world. Some of them put in 100% effort for the best quality service, some of them just does it with their minimal effort to achive “Customer Satisfaction” In my opinion, you shouldn’t blame or report one that their service simply because of their poor skills. Like they advertised, 1Hour of leech, Telecasting, MW and HS, and everything advertised is provided. Just that their skills isn’t too good. Adding on to @Shnang had said “People tend to come back for more.” If you happen to find a good leecher. Do add them in BL and compliment their efforts as truly, telecasting and selling an efficient leech is a skill not obtained overnight.
On top of quality, I've also noticed some sellers like to count downtime towards the leech hour, for example, npcing. Just because mapowner can say they've owned it for 1 hour doesn't mean they technically have done the full hour. So it is unfortunate some of these individuals try to overcharge for cheapened service. Best you can do like others have said, pay for each hour separately to measure and blacklist/shame them if they don't provide the full, quality leech.
While I’m sure the thread is dead, there used to be a section which people could mention leechers who they thought met or exceeded their expectations iirc. Not sure if there was a section on it for those who did not do well. I’d remake the thread myself because I find it interesting but in at work right now. I’m sure for those interested it could be a decent like farming thread.
