IGN: KHANVlCTlON Steps to go Fullscreen-Windowed Borderless: *Updated 9/16/16* MapleRoyals.exe doesn't like leaving its defined resolution: (800 x 640). There isn't even a check for Fullscreen-Windowed Borderless mode in-game. I am writing this because for some stupid reason Windows 10 keeps minimizing my game in fullscreen! >.< and it is Cropped black on the sides!!! '>.< *If you don't feel like listening to me blab anymore skip to the next red writing.* Trust me I understand. ~It is advised to read at least all multicolored parts & Steps 1-6 Only tested for a 1920 x 1080 Monitor! It would be great to get some feed back on if it worked for others with different resolutions or Laptops! (I'm on a Desktop with Windows 10 Currently) What my Game normally looks cropped with black on the sides (EW!) : Picture_1.png I had to custom make this in Paint because (WindowsKey+ PrtScrn) doesn't copy the black cropping on the sides so its not directly in the middle w/e! *ADVICE THIS HURTS THE EYES IF YOU DON'T LIKE POOPY GRAPHICS* Look at Picture_2.png Use: http://i.imgur.com/pU8SFGj.png I personally don't mind bad graphics. *Also you can lose your mouse if you go off screen to the bottom Right hand corner!* I get it! it is going to be buggy because MapleRoyals.exe doesn't like being fiddled with so this is experimental, you'll just have to deal with it. Old school Maple wasn't meant for High Resolutions! >xP Now that said and done here is how to do try it for yourself: *Skip to here* Steps, download this program that allows Fullscreen-windowing any game. 1. http://westechsolutions.net/sites/WindowedBorderlessGaming/download *If you are afraid scan it with antivirus etc. yourself please. I encourage it! Also you could look for another windowing program this one worked for me, so I use it and my AVG Free found no virus's. Lets continue.* *Note: This will not work if you don't use this program. obviously* 2. Running the WindowedBorderlessGaming Application. (App = Application = .exe) Run the app and go to your windows Desktop Tray to make sure it is running in the background. 3. Travel to your Desktop Tray and Right-Click on WindowedBorderlessGaming.exe icon Go to > Settings > Game Settings: Make your Resolution, under (Size & Offset), your native Monitor resolution (Mine is 1920 x 1080) Click "Apply" and "Ok". 4. Right click on the WindowedBorderlessGaming Desktop Tray icon again. Go to > Settings > Open Config File > My config.ini file contents in red are not in my actual config they are just guidelines: " [Global_Config] AutoSetResolution=always <------ Change from "never" to "always" DefaultDeskTopWidth=1920 (Make this your monitor's resolution) DefaultDeskTopHeight=1080 (Make this your monitor's resolution) AutoSetOffset=never DefaultPosX=0 DefaultPosY=0 KeyBind1_AddWindow=72 KeyBind1_ForceBorderless=73 KeyBind2_ForceBorderless=73 ForceKeyCheckTitle=always ForceTriggerCheckTitle=always AddWindow_Confirmation=never LastUsed=001 [Title:;Class:MapleStoryClass] Process=MapleRoyals.exe Style=348651520 friendlyname=001 Width=1920 (Make this your monitor's resolution) Height=1080 (Make this your monitor's resolution) " *make sure to make no typo's* 5. If WindowedBorderlessGaming Application is running. *First Time* Go to Desktop WindowedBorderlessGaming Application Tray icon. *First Time* Click icon and then click: "Add window (F3)". Start up MapleRoyals.exe. Push (Alt + Enter) to go into windowed mode. Make sure MapleRoyals.exe window is selected. *First Time* Press (F3). Push (F4). Done. 6. Here is where Step 3 & 4 & 5 come into play if you haven't done step 3 & 4 please do so or step 5 wont work! If it didn't work REPEAT STEP 4 *make sure config file is right* Or REPEAT STEP 5 if game exits Fullscreen-Windowed Borderless mode. *Also a tip so you don't lose your mouse always move it into the upper left hand corner then it won't go off screen in the bottom right hand corner.* Video no longer needed Cheers and have fun killing mobs out there in full screen in the MapleRoyals world! <3
Updated today 9/16/16 I found a break through for not having to use Mystify to glitch into Fullscreen-Windowed Borderless mode. No more 1-2 minute delay! All it requires is editing the configuration settings file (.ini) If you have not run the program yet; I will give the config file in this post. ~Dang website doesn't allow (.ini) to be uploaded so I will upload it as a (.txt) Download it Open in Notepad or Notepad ++ and Save As > Drop Down > All Files then add the extension manaully: config.ini *Make sure to edit the resolution to the correct resolution of your own native monitor not mine* DefaultDeskTopWidth=1920 Change DefaultDeskTopHeight=1080 Change Width=1920 Change Height=1080 Change
hey! could you post a before and after, how your game looks after you've done everything? this sounds like a good idea because i have that stretched out default setting in your second picture, but I don't know what im getting myself into lol thanks
I have before and after posted here: Before = Picture_1.png After = Picture_2.png Use: http://i.imgur.com/pU8SFGj.png If those pictures are not what you are looking for then please explain to me in better detail on what you would like to see or need help with thanks. *TIP* Push (F11) while in browser looking at my images or GIF to see them full screen and look at the differences. Push (F11) again to exit full screen browser mode. Ill make Picture_2.png title screen too so it is easier to compare. *** Update 9/17/16*** New picture will not post ~ will post new Picture_2.png when website stops giving me ERROR Message: "The following error occurred There was a problem uploading your file. Picture_2.png" ~Fixed with imgur for now. And here is a (.gif) visual difference. Before > After: i.imgur.com/wJMEss7.gifv Im here to help! IGN: KHANVlCTlON
Hi! this sounds great and I did as you said, but I wonder where to save it. I did save it in the MapleRoyals folder and nothing happened, also it didn't replace any other previous .ini Thanks in advance. : ))
While this does work, it still kinda ends up looking like dogshit since it doesn't do a particularly good job of scaling the game to fit the higher resolution. Honestly, I don't see what people's gripe is with pillarboxing either, I think it looks better with the original aspect ration with black bars then stretching it to fit widescreen, but that's just me :3 But, yeah the nicest thing about this is not having the bloody game minimize every time I click something on my other monitor. Don't know if it makes up for how awful it looks when using this method though. Also, I'm pretty sure the game runs at 800x600, not 800x640. Although, this method actually might be good for those who are using 1440p or 4k monitors and still allow it to look okay, since with those types of monitors, you can scale up the native 800x600 resolution of Maple to 1600x1200 without it being cutoff. Heck you could even triple it to 2400x1800 if you were using a 4k monitor and still be able to see everything.
thank you only solution that has worked so far. Would be interesting to know what specific nvdia settings you'd apply to royals too.
i play on a wide monitor, and the game looks HILARIOUS stretched across the screen. 32inch of W I D E B O I maplestory
