This post might get long but hopefully worth the read. First things first, we the players of MR highly appreciate the volunteers of the GM and the admins to run this channel. I don't believe this to be an easy job without getting paid.. especially when about a thousand players look to your work to enjoy this game as we reminisce our youth and childhood. With that being said, I was really curious if the team is able to sustain itself through the revenue they make via RP and if that's enough to incentivize you guys to continue the ongoing support to run this game. There are many issues that we would hope to see and if theres any way for us to help the admin team, we would do our best in a joint effort to see what can be done. With that being said, there are fundamental areas in which the game needs to be improved and changed - ultimately improving the quality of life and attracting more unique players to grow this game. 1. Remove HP washing - the biggest reason why people play maple royals is to reminsince the old days on the grind and playing with strangers as we make new friends and strive for better gears and damage. With washing, we are completely stuck at having to throw away the fun we could've have at earlier levels and need to resort to mindless leeching. Furthermore, as a new player, we DONT have the financial means to buy int gears and leech ourselves just to boss for late game. We want to enjoy the game from the beginning and the end. It makes no sense that in order to enjoy and take the game to late game, washing is really not an option but a must. If washing has become too big of a part in the economy, we need to find alternatives such as 1. Reducing the boss output damage 2. Reducing the damage intake (proportion it based on jobs) There is no other game that makes you play around HP. It's nonsense. If I grind to level 140, I should be able to reap in the benefits of my efforts and be able to boss or mob monsters around that level without having to be one shot by a boss monster. This really really needs to me modified! If this is somehow linked to your concern that the game mode will become too easy and people won't vote for NX as MR being a great game, then you're wrong. The players will always continue to vote for NX as we strive for better gears and even find ourselves as we make new chars. I may even come of bold here and say make the NX items last 90 days as they did in GMS so we continue to vote. 2. Make certain skills a passive or enable on/off toggle As a fighter, rage is essential and will always want to be used. As a cleric, bless will always want to be used As attackers, booster will always want to be used. Is there any way we can make these skills as passives so they are automatically applied? Or as some people may enjoy the animation of these skills, enable a button for on or off toggle option If skills such as rage, HB, bless can be used on party mates, I understand it's difficult to be passives. However, certain skills that only apply to their own character like booster, focus, etc I believe we can set to passives. 3. Remove spot holding in FM. There are so many peoples who don't actually set up a shop but hog the spot for their mules. This is wrong. They are preventing someone else from being able to generate mesos when they're not even using it themselves. If the character does not set up a shop after 10 minutes of opening the store, they should be esc'ed so that others can do so. 4. Back to number 1. HP washing. This I would say is the most important ways to improve MR. Trust me when I say, 5 of my friends who wanted to start royals with me quit after 3 says when they realized what HP washing was. It's scaring away new players. Thank you for reading this and I really hope something comes out of this
1. HP washing as a concept shouldn't be removed all together, rather make it a progression thing in which players gain the HP needed for end game content through completing quests\tasks in-game (like the HP quest or Reul's quest). But I can tell you that HP washing doesn't just scare new players but deter old players (like myself) from trying out other classes. For example I recently created a Brawler and in order to get the HP for endgame content I have to play with 200 base INT and rely constantly on leeching and I know this is gonna be the case untill level 135 or even more. This is no fun by all means. 2. In my opinion these skills should be as they are now. 3. Good idea.
1. I understand how you feel. For the first time, in order to get a glimpse.of what it's like to play while washing, I made a NL and I've been playing with 240 base int and was advised to do this until lv 135. It's unbearable. Likewise, Ive always wanted to try a Corsair but probably won't becsuse of this issue. I do agree that we should work towards getting to a level of HP by working hard consistently but I also think that's what we do as we level up our characters. That's us already EARNING to be in a place where if I'm lv 140, I should be able to play like a normal 140 character. 2. In my opinion these skills should be as they are now. 3. Good idea.[/QUOTE]
1. I think the HP quests (Ruel's and Spring of youth) and the HP gained from gears (Medals, mark of naricain, black fist cape, ellin earring/anniversary earrings, etc) are enough for anyone to progress to fight all the bosses in the game. All of these needs you to actually play the character (or if you have mesos, buy gears). Some bosses requiring extra work such as Shao, Toad, The Boss as they don't provide anything major other than EXP. Auf being the current end-game boss also requires you to put in more effort for HP. HP washing being required is a thing of the past, now its just a luxury for the rich people to gain HP fast. Also, removing HP washing means players effectively lose one of their main stable source of income which is AP resets and must beg to RNGoddess/gacha. 2. Making skills passive will make them stack with potions (which will require some balancing for attack buffs). It will also reduce the effectiveness of boss's dispel. I think it should be left as is. 3. I don't think there's anyway you can prevent this. People will just open a store with snail shell price 2,147,483,647 and then it'll just be the same thing. People will find a way. 4. You instead, tell them about HP quest to gain more HP
1. This has been discussed at length in numerous threads. HP gain is more possible than ever with the changes to HP quest and equips. Also, the characters who need HP the most (NL, Archers, Corsair) are ranged characters. Knowledge of boss mechanics goes a long way in ensuring survival (not touching certain parts of HT, timing seduce in HT/Auf.) But yes, there are more improvements that can be made in certain areas. You can read through the following: Analysis of Reul's HP Quest and other HP Sources Make HP washing optional, not mandatory Reading through some threads in forums will allow you to contribute more to the discussion. Also, balancing HP gain is a tough thing, as the lines between being able to fight, fighting for survival, and just afk holding a button are pretty thin. (It's also all over the place taking all bosses into account.) 2. I'll respond to each skill you listed. Rage - You can give your input in either General Warrior Feedback and Useless Skills or make a separate, more focused thread like Enrage Skill Modification Suggestion listing out the details of why this would be a positive change. Bless - this a party skill with niche uses. A lot of people avoid using this buff in boss fights as it overwrites the accuracy potions that are commonly used by warriors. How you make a party skill a toggle is beyond me, but this shouldn't be the case, imo. It has negligible benefits for the Cleric that is using it. Booster - For what reason should booster be a passive/toggle skill? Buffing, with timers, is part of the gameplay. Dispel is a boss mechanic. It is the case that some skills have been turned into a toggle, such as Final Attack, but there were good reasons for doing so. 3. As someone who has spent a significant amount of their gameplay in FM, this is not as big a problem as people make it out to be if it even is at all. Whether it's holding a spot with a mule without setting the shop up or putting a merchant with just one junk item, it should be left alone. Not only is there no way to enforce such a philosophy (10 min to set up? I'll just open shop with junk then), but the general rule in the community is that you grab a spot, you can do whatever you want with it. This kind of behavior also, from my observation, occurs in the most desirable locations, where people are either saving for themselves or a friend and it will eventually be used. It's more than possible to find a good spot to set up and sell your items. If you want the Ch 1 FM 1-6 spots you'll have to compete like everyone else.
*as a new player I want the benefits of an old player like people said earlier there’s already a lot of ways to gain hp.
