Closed Girlfriend permabanned for a character she doesn't have?

This is just really confusing. I got her to play, she got to lvl 32 and then was permanently banned? Also I'm writing this for her because I'm more into maple than she is and she isn't too familiar with the technical aspects of the game ("What does this even mean?")

I believe she was wrongfully perma'd (probably banned the wrong person) but if there's an explanation, please share. Thank you.

 

Are you playing behind a proxy/VPN of some sort?

 

I don't think my girlfriend knows what a proxy is, she just uses the internet at her house

 

How can she be banned for what "ClubFighter" did if that character is not even registered on her account? She has one character

 

Because ClubFighter and her are on the same IP address.

No... I'm sorry and this is probably really hard to believe because I can't provide proof of any sort but my girlfriend literally only played that one character. And to be honest, she wasn't too good at it because in the time period she got to 32, I got like 2 characters to 2nd job and another to like 25. ClubFighter, ImNeilson, I have never heard of those names in my life and neither has my girlfriend... There was a time period a few days ago where she couldn't get MapleRoyals to work (didn't open after continuous attempts or something) and then recently when it randomly started working again (she brought her laptop and tried it at my house because I was trying to fix it for her), she tried logging in and it gave her the ban evading message. I think the first time, the ban message said "null" in it, but after other attempts, it gave us the "ban evading asshole" message. She is the only person in her household that plays and I'm the reason for that because I got her into MR. Would you guys rather talk to her about this? I'm not sure if that would help but I can tell her to make her own ban appeal post if anything.

 

Can't you guys check her account and see that ClubFighter and ImNeilson aren't even on her account? Is her login name needed so that you guys can do that?

 

I can see that the two IGNs are not on her account. The problem is, her IP address and his IP address are exactly the same. So there's one of two explanations. One is that Clubfighter/ImNeilson plays in the same house as your girlfriend or two that your girlfriend is using a program or proxy to change her IP address.

 

Is it not possible that someone else is using a proxy to change his/her IP and use my girlfriends? :/

 

And she isn't too technologically savvy. I had to download maple for her on her mac and everything

 

Are there any questions you guys want me to ask her to make this investigation a little bit easier, if possible?

 

Wait if someone else is being a "ban evading asshole" on her IP, does that imply that someone has already been banned from that IP? Because I'm 99.99% sure she was the first one that started playing in her household. My friend told me to start playing and then I got her to start with me.

 

Yes, it means he was banned from that IP.

And sorry to put the "asshole" part in, that was meant for Neil not for your girlfriend. We had history.

My girlfriend is Filipino LOL and she doesn't know any French Neil so... I really have no idea what's going on. I wish I could provide some sort of plausible explanation for this (I think it might be proxy but tbh I'm not even really sure how those work).

 

Did Neil ONLY play from this IP too? Or did the IP begin to get registered to his account after some time?

 

The forum post that I've provided was also made in August 2014. So... what? If he was permabanned in August 2014 why is my girlfriend getting affected by this now?
