There is a new glitch making people who made a new account getting banned before even playing. First they get a message from maplestory itself saying your ID has been blocked from connection. If they try to login after that they get the pop up in blue saying they were banned for the usage of 3rd party illegal hacking tools. This is of course impossible as they never played before and never made a character and yes I'm also talking for myself here
As KC said, I thought what you said may have been happening so I created a new account to test it myself. I logged in with no problems, created a character, and even levelled a few times just to make sure all was okay.
