This isn't a "Is gpq broken?" thread. This is a: How in the heck do we do GPQ? I've looked at the Hidden street guide, and i very very briefly remember it from GMS.. but I don't remember how to actually *do* it. Any tips? Advice on how to stay organized for stage 1? Advice on killing Ergoth- what kind of party make-up do we need and what levels? Assuming no CB/shadower to bomb. I still have to go through and read the rest of the guide, to even try to understand the rest of the stages. Any first hand experience advice would be more than welcome XD
I don't know everything about GPQ, but I'll tell you what I do know: - You need at least 2 people that know how to do the first stage with the statues. It requires a decent amount of memorization skills. - You absolutely need someone with dark sight. Same goes for teleport. - You will have to 'sacrifice' a character below lvl 30 at some point in the PQ. - Ergoth is not too difficult. One 4th jobber should be able to solo him. - Get enough (2-3) people with jumpquest experience. Otherwise the PQ will take a long time.
Beyond what Marty said in the guide, which is a very nice summary btw, you want at least 4 people that know what they are doing. You can have stragglers that come along for the boss fight, but be sure your vital roles (haster, tele, level 20-29 guy, jump questers) know their stuff. If you guys don't have the experience, I highly recommend getting a Skype call set up. Also, if you're not good with the 4 item combination stage, there is a solver on the internet out there somewhere I used to use. Makes it less of a hassle to communicate and think about the problem. After a while I didn't need it, but it might help you to start. I'll find it when I get to my computer and post a link here. Honestly, I could probably write a program in C to solve it. I might do that if I can't find it actually. Doesn't seem too terribly complicated. As for the first stage, I found for me that it works best with 3 people. But the real key is that you have to make sure each person knows which statues they are responsible for. Leader designates that. Divide the area into 3 parts. Each person must promptly shout their activated statue numbers.
