I want to say I understand why the change from 500 -> 5000 was made, but I don't really. A few people said 500 was too easy, that people can just change guilds and get the chair, someone suggested 5000 as a /random/ figure, and then it gets changed less than a week later? What about the people who aren't bishops/archmages, the attackers who don't want to zak 2x everyday and fight for snow, the people who don't farm mini-bosses all day everyday... what if you're just a poor little outlaw trying to HP wash or a cleric who only PQs in a guild that happens to be in the top 25? Whilst it might only take like, 5 hours of ulu 1 farming for bishops to get their 5k snow requirement, it might take some other people 20 hours of doodling in henesys hunting ground 1. That, is /a little/ ridiculous. Yes, the top guilds are all dominated by dedicated farmers. But if I had 4 characters and I wanted the chair on all of them (inb4 "pls isnt one enough" arguments) and one of my characters donates 20000 snow, you'd think I made a significant enough contribution because technically I as a person donated 4x5000 snow. Except now I only get one chair. Just my two cents really. I think it's not unreasonable to say 500 is too little, too easy or whatever, but 5000 is ...complete overkill. No? None of the above examples actually apply to me tbh. The following one, however, does: one of my characters who's donated over 10000 snow (in two lumpsums before the most recent patch, 6000 and 5000 respectively if I remember correctly) has had the donation count set at 100 by maple claws - if staff could please confirm that at the very least this wont happen again (or if it will get corrected at some point) because 10k snow... is a lot of time even for an archmage.
I must agree it is a little too much. It is already challenging for a HP washing character to get snows even when farming in HHG. 2000 sounds a little bit better.
No offense, but did people forget that a game that is time consuming should be challenging aswell? If you cant get the chair for all your mules, well better luck next year. I don't know, but to me all those recent posts about QOL changes the recent days just make me laugh. Hurr durr, I want this and that for all my 38 characters but at the same time I want to afk 24 hours a day. I do understand that people have in real life and limited time to spend on the game but be a little bit realistic?
It was changed because the requirement of 500 was simply too easy to do, so now it requires more effort to complete. The higher requirement should help discourage players from joining other guilds for the chair, and focus more on their own. It should also influence more players to be more active in donating the snow, in turn making the snowblower go off more often. I feel it's better for the change to be made sooner rather than later. And what about the people who are bishops/archmages and just don't want to farm, or islanders that aren't able to take part in the event at all, or people that are in a guild by themselves and stand no chance, or those who aren't in a guild at all? We can't please everyone with every single event, and if there is an event which you don't like, then you don't need to take part in it. It's only a chair after all. If you want the chair on multiple characters, it makes complete sense that you should be required to put in the effort on each of the characters rather than just one. I don't feel 5000 is overkill, however forcing players to grind at HHG1 is not what is intended by the event. But this is why there are other methods of obtaining the snow, like; obtaining stacks of snows from bosses, obtaining snow from GM events, or obtaining snow from Christmas PQ. If that was due to the bug relating to changing guilds, then yes this should be fixed and the counter should increment properly now, but unfortunately what you had previously donated cannot be corrected as we don't have logs for discarded snow. There was a bug where if you had changed guilds, the server would still think you were in a different guild constantly, and would keep resetting it.
They can't take part, mentioned that in my post above. I believe islanders only have access to star exchange and tree decorating.
it's not that hard to get 5k yea we all want get 5k in a moment and on all chars or it's to hard but when you see that you can get around 500-1000 from 1h farming or 500+bossing in 5-10days you'll get enough more chars = more work kinda unfair for smaller guilds tho some even put way more work then some individuals in top 25 guilds and still won't get chair but i guss teamwork ehh and i don't understand how this as @Matt said [ discourage players from joining other guilds] (top25) when 500->5000 so far only made harder for people that mule chars for chair
RIP, I have around 25 chars (25 Christmas presents everyday). LF> 1 hour more to farm snows for their chairs... Is there anyone willing to lend me your 1 hr everyday?
