1. Am I the only one who noticed that their drop rate is just too low? It was higher last year. 2. There are classes that have good bossing skills instead of mobbing skills. Can you set it up so we'll get 20-100 (depends on the boss) halloween candies per a boss? I don't know if it was already done or not becaus I just tried to boss and I only got 1 candy. 3. What about getting HC from Zakum? 3-2 drops of 1,000 sounds pretty decent to me since you can only zakum twice a day.
I agree, i was farming them last night and the drop rate is lower then the candles! When i first started killing it took me killing over 20 enemys to get one candy, for a second i thought the drops were glitched lol
I took a poll of a handful of people today, just to get an estimate- it seems most people with a mob skill are averaging around 100-200 an hour. Does anyone remember the averages from the anniversary event? I was new, so I dont know what was common around then. I also dont remember how much everything was worth, since...I just sold the candles for potion money. lol
I think the drop rate is just right. If you consider that the event is on for a full month, even players that can only play for 30 minutes per day are still able to obtain at least one of the expensive items. Most players play more than that on average so the majority of players will be able to obtain a lot of the items.
would you consider raising the drop rate on maple island for us islanders? In an hour we get between 30-60 candies.
I feel like it needs to be slightly higher, or the same as it was last year. The low drop rate is making the market go nuts. I think I saw somone selling each candy in 200k, which is a ridiculous price, really... Edit: And also, what about my other suggestions? :c
I'm gonna be honest, I get around 700 an hour. They aren't too rare and I really feel they going to get cheaper as the weeks past by after most people get their rewards they wanted. People can sell anything at any price, but it didn't mean that's the current price. Just look out for the Smegas that says they're buying and have your guild keep track of that number. The number floats around 40k to at most 50k.
The main problem regarding the drop rate seems to be that while it's fine (if perhaps a little on the high side) for 4th job mages/Bishops and D(r)Ks using Roar, it's rather on the low side for other job classes. If it was possible to adjust the drop rate according to the skill being used, we might be able to balance things a little better between those with ultimates and those without. It seems fair that those with Ultimates should have an advantage in terms of farming items, as this is one of the features of the relevant job classes. However, there is the issue that if we raised the droprate for everybody, we would probably make it too high for those with Ultimates. At the moment, we can't see a way of coding the drop rates to take skills being used into account, but if this changes, we will let you know.
Thank you for the comment Kat But there is a much easier solution to that. There are two kind of classes in MS. Classes that have mobbing skills, and a classes that have bossing skills. Right now, because of the drop rate, it only works for the classes with the mobbing skills (mages mostly). But, if you take a look at suggestions number 2 and 3, you'll see how classes with bossing skills can get the same amount of HC as the classes with the mobbing skills. If you'll do that then it will work for everyone, I think.
Except those 'bossing classes' are unable to do bosses until late 3rd job/4th job. Thus leaving everyone 1st- 3rd job at a disadvantage (and also making them rely on boss timers to get candy, which is also unfair when anyone else can farm the same amount of candy at -any- time they want).
We can say the same thing about classes with mobbing skills... Classes with mobbing skills (aka mages) are unable to actually farm until 4th job, when they get the skill that allows you to hit 15 monsters (If I remember correctly). There are a lot of bosses for low levels too... And also, right now, the classes with the mobbing skills still have an advantage over the classes with the bossing skills. Sure, it takes more time for them to farm (because you lowered the drop rate) but they still farm a lot faster. Lets say mages can farm 1000 HC in an hour. Any other classes will be able to farm only 700-600 HC. And still, if you'd lower the drop rate even more, mages will still have more HC in their hands. Not to mention that HC are tradeable. Farming faster = more HC. More HC = more . Talking about unfair... When you are done bossing you can alway go farming, which seems kinda fair to me since mages can farm faster.
Make a Dragon Knight and max out Dragon Roar first and farm on low level mobs. 3rd Job isn't too hard to get or asking for too much.
I briefly mentioned it, but I didnt specify- everyone first to 3rd job has a disadvantage if we only increased the rate for bosses and left it the same everywhere else. 4th job mages have a huge advantage here, and they already have an advantage with being able to gain good exp while making good money while also farming candy. (Sell leech while farming) I've still been at it for a while on my bucc, at gs2- I only get still about 200/hour at most. The idea wasn't to drop the rate for anyone, but to increase it slightly for everyone but fourth job mages. However I dunno how feasible it is right now...so I've just been farming my butt off.
Nothing in life is fair. Mages are best at farming anything; candies fall under "anything." Bossing classes make money while bossing. That money can be used to buy candies. Maple Island needed a fix, and it got one.
And all the people first through third job who can't boss, nor do they have an ultimate to spam farm with? (Plus, an event like this is supposed to be fair for everyone involved since it's all cover equips and accessories. It's all just cash shop stuff minus a few things- unlike the anniversary event which had stat'd items)
