Hey guys, I'm in the process of funding my Hero, and to cut straight to the chase, I would like to know if going Dragon Claymore is viable. I have read several threads on this forum already, and for the most part Stonetooth Sword is the preferred end-game weapon. However, I personally don't like how Stonetooth Sword looks, and would prefer to use a Dragon Claymore (while using heartstoppers and above to boss). When using Red ciders and below, I would use a Sparta/Carabella and Maple Shield. I will eventually make a SI mule too, and keep my base dex to 4. Also with this event ongoing, I could possibly make a 6wa Anniversary Scarf, since I don't need the extra dex from HTP. With all of that considered, will Stonetooth Sword still be the winner? Or would Dragon Claymore still lose but only by a tiny margin? Any inputs is much appreciated, thank you
Not worth chaosing scarf, dex gives range too and warriors scale really well with Str. Just get an above avg htp eventually, and once MoN comes out it’ll beat both of them (godly stats). Claymore is viable but not suggested since STs are generally cheaper and faster. If you’re going to spend that much on Claymore/carabella/sparta/Shield, might as well just buy more heartstoppers and always use 2h haha. Claymore/ST are both viable end games. I know few people who use claymore. play the game how you want to play it, use what you want!
You think of trying the 1 handed Pyrope route? You'll have a great damage advantage vs every other Hero that's close to your funding when you both don't have SI. When SI is available you can switch to your Claymore. If you're planning on making and SI mule and bringing it everywhere I would just make a Claymore since it would be the strongest.
Claymore = Strongest if you have SI mule. Also good when BF hunting. Pyrope = Strongest if you have no SI. You better have a 30+ wa maple shield though. ST = Strong almost all the time. All other 1H have a speed of 5, so they don't have the advantage that the pyrope has. Don't use other 1H, ST is almost always better. Also keep in mind that a decent 1H will always lose to a decent 2H because Apple's wa affects a 2H weapon more than 1H. So unless you're extremely funded (50b+), don't bother with the pyrope route. Unless you're confident you can always dual client without DCing or dying / willing to arrange party members in HT for the SI, don't bother with the claymore either. ST technically isn't the strongest, but it has so many upsides that it's hard to pass up. If you don't like it, just buy a cash shop item like me :3 I personally don't like the look of the ST either.
Thank you all for your kind replies! My remaining concerns are: 1) If the scarf is truly inferior to HTP/MoN, what should I be exchanging the candles for? Some arguments on other threads i’ve read says that a 6wa scarf is good for attackers that don’t need 2ndary stats etc so i’m conflicted. 2) I have seen some calculations on this forums where dragon carabella is worth getting, considering I won’t always use heartstoppers and above on bosses (like easier bosses, grinding, etc). However as some have pointed out, without SI pyrope sword would be better. How about with SI while training etc? 3) I bought a near perfect Sparta with 3 more slots to go, and this is making me consider if I should just save for a good claymore, or just finish the Sparta (would be 139wa). I’ve read that in mid game, a 1H sword and 20wa shield would still beat a not perfect ST, so it is recommended to get it. Thank you once again!
1. I'm not sure which is better, a 6 att scarf or a perf htp. I think 6 att may scale better if you are a 1h sword. I bought a couple scarves and earrings to maybe chaos later. 2. When you're training (ob4), ST is usually the best as it allows you to jump hit at ~110jump, which means you can mob better than if you were to equip a claymore. Same can be said for 1h, but it takes 1 more hit to take down the mobs, max ST is recommended. 3. I do not recommend you to waste ws on a sparta. It is simply not worth it. You Will definitely get outclassed by an ST. I think even a 130ST will outclass a perf sparta + 20wa shield in bossing, since you are using stoppers or apples. I really recommend you to just purchase a 128st for 2b or something, and once you're ready with funding you can choose between different weapons.
You could look into scrolling the new Flame Sword. It's Fast 4 (as fast as red katana and pyrope) with a higher base attack than the pyrope.
LOL I killed that thing 5 times so far and gave me nothing but 350nx each time. Thanks for letting me know! Looking forward to killing it every day
@resum Thanks for that info! I'll try to find out which mob drops the item. And to keep this relevant with the post, does any1 know the base attack of the flame sword? For reference, Red Katana has a base stat of 83 and Maple Pyrope Sword (1H) has a base att of 87.
Thank you! How did you know / where did you find the source? I could not for the life of me find it anywhere. I was beginning to wonder if this weapon was a mapleroyals custom equipment because I couldn't find any references.
Sword choice can be a tricky business. You want something that looks good, but you also don't want to break the bank. And, of course, you want a sword that will help you in battle. So what's a hero to do? The Dragon Claymore is one sword that has been gaining popularity in recent years. This sword is said to be forged from the scales of a dragon, making it extremely strong and durable. It's also relatively affordable, which makes it a great option for heroes on a budget. However, some experts say the Stonetooth Sword is still the best choice for battle. This sword is made from a rare, tough material that can withstand even the most powerful attacks. It's also very light, meaning you can swing it faster and more precisely than a heavier sword. So which sword should you choose? Ultimately, it depends on your needs and budget. But if you're looking for the best sword for battle, the Stonetooth Sword listed at Sword Encyclopedia is hard to beat.
