Since I've been using this server for about a week now and it looks like I will be staying, I thought I might as well introduce myself a bit. I'm 25 years old and from the Netherlands. My little brother got me hooked on EMS just after beta ended (I did tried GMS for a little bit before that) and I've played it for somewhere around 5 years. Once my little brother stopped, so did I. Many videogames later, I was wondering about Maplestory and after trying to get back to EMS (which I couldn't, since I forgot the accountname of my main and Nexon support sucks) and trying some up-to-date private servers, I decided I didn't like the way the game evolved since I stopped. To be honest, I hadn't really liked it before I stopped on EMS, but somehow they managed to make it even worse. Scrolling through Gtop100 for other ideas I came across the nostalgic servers and since this was one of the highest which actually offers somewhat of an exp boost (I couldn't stand going at 1x exp rate just like the old days, seeing as I wanted to get back to the higher level regions without having to play for another 5 years) I decided on MapleRoyals, and now it seems I'm staying. So far I've gotten my Page to level 42 and even got my little brother to play as well, although I don't think he will stay for too long. My first goal will be trying to get my main char back to the level it was on EMS (I think I left it around 140) and maybe try out some other classes as well and just have some fun with the good old mindless grind. I don't see myself doing bosses somewhere soon (or at all), but maybe you'll see me around there one day.

Hey Bjoernie, welcome to MapleRoyals! Thanks for the glimpse into your journey until you arrived here. Quite understandable what your reaction was. I think a lot of people were distraught with what EMS (or GMS) has become. Also, yes, it is quite bad right now with the disconnects and lag issues, but there will be a new Source Update that will hopefully fix all of these problems + the community really is great here. Yes, I read about the new source thingy, I'm hoping it'll be here soon and it really helps with problems the server is having now. So far, it hasn't made me run away yet, but it can be annoying at times.
