I haven't tested this for other mobs, but orange mushrooms can drop all the way from 6 to 115 mesos. This seems too big of a range. EDIT: I tested jr. grupins as well, and they drop mesos anywhere from 25 to 507 The maximum drop seems to be around 20 times the minimum drop for both the mobs I tested.
