Say I wanted to catch a scammer, how would I be able to do it? Leech scammers, zak looters, nlc manual scammers. How can we catch them? Would appriciate a GMs confirmation on method!
The problem with being able to catch scammers is that you need irrefutable evidence. You may need to get the other party to explicit state their part in the deals. For example, you asking them "You are buying a zakum helmet for 60m and paying me after the zakum run" and them replying to this. Video evidence or multiple screenshots are the best way to record this information. Leech scams are incredibly hard to report for due to many possible reasons why the leech may not have been completed but if you can prove to us beyond reasonable doubt that they have scammed you we will take action.
Would it be sufficient evidence if I made the scammer confirm the leech, time + meso, with servertime and video from start? And you could also give the scamner a warning, meso back or completed leech if the scammer say he "dced"
Personally, I don't think that would work. We don't give out warnings, if you break a rule there is a punishment for it. Secondly, the example you gave would not be sufficient because there are way too many variables involved. They could have had an emergency, internet cut off, etc etc. I know I have planned on doing things on Royals just to have no internet for a week without warning.
I guess if you were able to prove that leech was agreed on, no leech had occured and that they were continuing to play the server and actively avoiding you then that would be sufficient.
There isnt any precedent for leech scams so I'm not quite sure. I would say no because leech scams are avoidable in general, especially if there have been reports before on that person. Not being proactive/doing research means that there was user negligence/error which we also wouldn't refund.
