Whats the most logical way to get enough dex to wear the stonetooth sword without adding dex? Or do people just add a bit to wear it

I would say if you dont want to add DEX, use Equips.
You can get 100% Overall DEX Scrolls for 35k at the scroll seller in Kerning, scroll a bathrobe thats +10 DEX.
A green bandanna has 10 slots, its what Im using. I bought 100% helmet dex scrolls from FM for pretty cheap, and it has +10 DEX.
Thats a possible +20 dex there alone. You can also buy pre-scrolled dex earings , and shoes for decent prices (under 10m) in FM.

Get as much DEX through equips as you can, then work your base DEX up to the point where you can hit 120. Obviously your equips change over time, so you can adjust accordingly via AP resets. But it's not too particularly difficult to build up enough. Zhelm gives +15 average (with 10 slots to scroll), +5 from deputy star (and eventually like +20 from horntail pentant), then you can get 20 or so with a well-scrolled pair of pants, and at least +10 from earrings.

All in all, I'm at about ~15 or so base DEX and able to reach 120 through equips. But there's nothing wrong with adding some base DEX early on (i.e. at level 120 (or whatever the required level for ST is)), and just gradually resetting out that DEX as your equips get better.

I personally added about 50 base dex and got the rest from equips. Mind you, it took me quite awhile to amass the equips needed to bring me down to even 30 base dex (which is arounddddd where I think I am). A decent, scrolled zhelm would give you about 30 dex, 10 dex earrings, 25 dex~ top and bot, and 5 dex dep star puts you at about 70 dex. Adding 50 really isn't too big of a deal and you can get a pendant later on like it was mentioned earlier for an almost 20 dex upgrade. That puts you at about 90 dex which you can usually fill with improvements such as a 10 dex leaf or improving on the helm. Overall, it is difficult, but not impossible to be base dex.

The most important thing is that it is not mandatory! Many players have base dex so that they can wear pgc/fs and I was even using dex shoes/cape before I got decent ones of either.

    End game goal:
    • 40 Dex Zakum Helmet
    • 15 Dex Maple Leaf
    • 13 Dex Earrings
    • 25 Dex Horntail Necklace
    • 23 Dex Bottom
    • 6 Dex Top
These goals aren't very farfetched or difficult in my opinion and adding all this up plus your base 4 Dex will total up to 126 and this isn't including a Dex Mask which can be expensive. Leaves you a lot of room to maneuver.

Remember that you can play around with the numbers a bit as well too. You have a bit of wiggle room with Plenty's numbers, so don't feel like you have to get those items. Get something close, then as you make money you can upgrade your items.

For example, you could get a 20 dex bottom and a 9 dex top and play with the numbers a bit there as well. Either way, do not be afraid to add base dex!
