Hello everyone. I have an important suggestion that I thought I might share. Tbh, The only thing that encouraged me to write this is the message we get in the game that says "your feedback is appreciated", so here is mine.

I think the game has a huge economic problems. I know it is much easier to get money now that gachapon is available with 8k nx everyday. However, at one point you will find yourself stuck. I will tell you what I mean. I was leveling and pqing my bowman normally till lvl 70 until I realized that there is something called HP washing that is too late for me to do. Apparently, the bowman has a major problem in HP and defense that it needs washing so badly in order to boss effectively at high levels. I learned that HP washing needs approximately 200 ap resets which is approximately 1.8 billion. The stuck point that I am talking about is that you are supposed to make washing early enough at the same time at low levels you are too noob to get 1.8 billion, you see what I mean? It is kind of catch 22 situation. Also, I felt like this washing thing is too complicated that changed the game that I once knew too simple and enjoyable. I know, for instance, a person who got his bowmaster to lvl 140 with no HP washing and had to quit his character because of HP difficulties. The thing is, the only people who are high in level can get money effectively and HP wash, not the others. I think this is a major economic problem. I think the problems I mentioned are one of the main reasons people quit the game. My case is tolerable, but imagine losing 140 level investment. Some might argue that I still can HP wash but still the lower the level is the better, so basically I missed my shot. Don't forget that how am I supposed to get this 1.8 billion like for reals? People with high levels and enough money can literally create a level 1 character and leech him to level 70 in one day without killing a single thing. I think also leeching is something terrible in the game. Like you are basically exchanging money for levels. This is not how the game should work? The game is about having fun with your character and leveling him up and stuff. Simply exchanging money for levels is just unbelievable and screws the whole game.

I hope my suggestion will be taken into consideration. This is my first thread and I don't know if these problems are already addressed. I hope they are already becuase if not I will be really shocked.

    Thank you,

I stopped right here. Despite all the resources you're given on the forum and the multitude of people more than willing to lend an ear, you still struggle with this issue. It may be a lot of money, but if it were easy to make that money, this wouldn't be a very appealing server to play in.

Also, changing things drastically now will makes things unfair, especially those who have already spent billions in AP Resets (myself included).

    Thank you for your feedback.

The game has always been as it is. Even back in the day, when horntail was released it was hard!

Its not neccesary to hp wash, but its adviced. You dont need 1.8 bil messos to do that its your own choice.

I had the same situation, i leveled a high level character but decided i want to be better and spend that extra money to get the character that i wanted.

As for leeching, if you still going to play your bowman, and you really dispise leeching, smega for priests and friends to grind together and have fun!

Because thats what MapleStory is all about :)

Hey Loletto.. I started Royals 2 weeks ago too..

Even before I first logged into Royals, I already understood that it was meant/made for old times sake.. For old Maplers who enjoyed Maple before NExon got too greedy and effed up.. So meaning, a lot of us knew what HP washing was and that it would cost a fortune..

With all these in mind, I made my first character, a Healer class.. Mainly because it is cheap to fund one and rakes in profits.. And now, I have made enough mess (from Gacha and what nots..) to be able to buy int gears to wash a low level.. And now I have started a bowman.. Straight off at lv 1, I put 20 AP into Int and am washing her now..

Hopefully this will give you some idea on how to get mesos to wash..

ALSO: It is not the MapleRoyal's fault that certain classes needs HP washing to boss certain bosses.. It has always been like that since 2002..

The game has been like this ever since HT came out, which was like about 10 years ago? You were just unaware of HP washing when you were playing in the "nostalgic, old-times" server. It's not Royals' fault, they are just hosting the game as it was.

I started playing in this server having knowledge of HP washing. I didn't create a mage class because I know that their skill books/scrolls/equips are expensive, instead I made a warrior class (knowing they can do bossing while not having to wash a lot). I also didn't care about getting INT sets since I know I don't have the money, instead I saved up NX for 2 months and leveled my way till lv50 and went for gachapon. Now I'm sticking at lv50 so that I don't level up without a zak helm, which could essentially provide 15 int or so.

TL:DR: The game is not broken, nor does it have a problem because of HP washing. Don't expect a shortcut, there is a way out.

As a lv. 200 BM who didn't wash (which was my first character and I only made a bish after I hit 200) I want to let you know that I've been able to fight against every boss in the game without HB. (NOTE: After the new source I will need HB for HT but that is not a major issue, at least for me)

I think your main issue is that you don't know much about HP washing itself. Some threads about HP washing make it seems like non washed characters are useless, this is far from true. Sure dying in 2 hits (or even 1 if you make a huge mistake) makes the game a lot harder but as the game is right now HP washing is a luxury, not a necessity. The only way it will become a real necessity is if PB gets ever released (which to be honest is a wild bet, it might never come or it might come long after you lost interest in this game). If you think you will be here long enough to see PB then getting mesos to HP wash will be the least of your troubles, you will have to invest even more money in good gear to be someone useful in such short fight.

My suggestion is that you inform yourself well about what HP washing is and how does it works, and how much HP you need to fight every boss.

EDIT: something I wanna say about leech. I'm not a fan of buying/selling leech (which is why I don't do it, the only times I've ever bought leech was with the intention to help friends financially instead of gaining levels myself), I don't have any issue with self-leeching but I do have an issue with people telling other people how to play a game, if you don't enjoy leeching then don't do it, but don't tell other people not to. The same way other people don't like the same food as you, other people enjoy games in a different way than you.
